On what terms would you welcome Diggs back?

Do the Cowboys actually want him back, would a new DC want Diggs back, preferably a DC that feels like they can maximize Diggs to be the CB we've paid him to be? I know he's burned a lot of bridges, but he wants to stay, we really don't know how the Cowboys feel about him, we can only speculate. What terms would you want him back? What would he have to show you that he's ready to be that #1 CB we need?? Please give your thoughts

I wouldn't welcome Diggs back. Trade him to the Packers for more draft capital.

He won't be back. It's pretty much done and dusted at this point. I'm hoping for Delane, McCoy or Terrell as his heir apparent with that first draft pick.

I didn't want Diggs extended nor do I prefer he returns but not because of the reasons many fans have.

He's a good player and next year I expect he will be better because he will have passed the 18-month recovery window that ACL injuries require to fully recover (not the 9-10 months to get on the field window).

My reasons for not wanting Diggs extended or back in 2026 is that he's not the type of cornerback that the Cowboys need.

The Cowboys need cornerbacks that can stick with receivers constantly and, most importantly, that will tackle the receivers reliably.

Diggs plays cornerback like receiver which makes for some great interceptions and his speed (prior to ACL injury) allowed him to play more loosely and take chances because he could close the gap if he guessed wrong.

However, I would rather have a cornerback that stays within 3 yards of a receiver the whole time that makes the sure tackle every time than one that makes a highlight reel every 2 to 3 games.

When I have rewatched games over the last 3-4 years with Diggs you would be amazed how many times he shadow runs with players instead of trying to tackle them.

Meaning if there is one other defensive player near the runner, Diggs will just run beside them and not try to tackle because he wants the other guy(s) to do it instead.

I don't dislike Diggs the person and his diva personality doesn't really bother me, but I prefer players who perform reliably and consistently.

they mentioned part of his problem is that he likes to take too many chances and it works sometimes and other times it doesn't and the results show!!!

LOL

(Just for making this thread i officially withdraw my future support for you as possible moderator  )

Terms??? The terms that he puts his uniform on, ties his cleats and plays are good enough for me just like they would be good enough for 31 other teams who only worry about winning football games

He needs to be in the frozen north with his buddy.

His agent burning his contract and going on a veteran minimum Brand new deal not restructured burn the contract delete it whatever has to be done to make it void start over new contract All has to be earned and how many games you play how many minutes you play and filling up a stat sheet..

Yes incentive laden contract I would do it but this man makes too much money to keep around as much as I would like to see him improve and finish his career as a cowboy he showed nothing both personally or professionally In the last three years he has not done enough to have a contract like that..

Another team would be quite stupid To do anything different....

I didn't check his contract details like what's his dead cap what's his actual AAV next year and all that but I know he's been overpaid the last two seasons he's done almost nothing..

I know I know injuries are not their fault they can't be controlled and I realize that this is a terrible year to be judging players because of the DC and the badge scheme fit and all that I get all that....

Where is the evidence to support that?
Well he said it out loud whether he meant it or not that's the evidence he literally just said last week he wants to be back on the field he wants to finish his career as a Cowboy he didn't need to put that fluff out there he's already in the doghouse He could have just said no comment..

I want him back (pause)

I dont know how anybody can look at our CB room and be ok with releasing our best one. Yes hes been hurt but so has Bland and hes substantially better than him

Here's the thing: Diggs is not the most articulate or talkative. So I would proceed with some caution by reflexively taking Jerry's side on this. There's a ton we don't know...and I don't trust Jerry.
