That's the mindset Garrett should be taking. Just focus on one game at a time. I know it's not rocket science. But I think if Garrett doesn't worry about the implied pressure of winning games throughout the rest of the season, and he takes it one game at a time, I may come around to him.

I'm not going to lie. I remain skeptical, but I really liked what I saw from him on both sides of he ball.

That Ivy League work ethic is paying off dividends and seems to be rubbing off on the rest of the team.

We may be going out. But at least we took a swing tonight.

It's a moral victory just beating the Giants. I thought they'd kill us.

One day, one practice and one game at a time.

P.S.

Keep up the film study.

This game reinforced the saying "you make your own luck".

Not to be cliche', but I guess you're referring to the Ben Franklin analogy..."the harder you work, the luckier you get."

Yeah, it stands to reason.

I've never been to an Ivy League university, because I'm not that smart. But I did work hard in college. You can't go to a top 50 school and not work hard. But think about it... the guy went to Princeton.

He knows how to study. He just had a team party at the Ranch and everyone crammed at the party. That's how we did it at UT.

Most there have work ethic. But even then, there were athletes crashed out on the bed in the backroom because they were so exhausted from practice.

It can come down to a leader in a group, a professor or a TA. But a study session party has to have a good leader. So everyone can pass the test.

That's what we did tonight.

Yet like you say, the ones that do study and do play football get the best of BOTH worlds... and likely they'll be the luckier ones in life.

There is a lot to be learned from hard work.

While I'm still not sold on JG as the answer... I have to say I liked everything I saw from him today as HC.

I had a thread saying that he's a bad fit, and if I'm wrong I am comfortable with it.

He just can't afford to be a Jerry-puppet under any circumstance.... I think it will be difficult to change that moniker... UNLESS:

He is signed to a very very long term deal... at least 6 years with a ridiculously expensive firing clause.

How many Jerry puppets get the better of Jerry when it comes to their salary? I don't understand the impression of Jason Garrett as a puppet *at all*. He may not end up being a great HC, but he's pretty clearly not anybody's puppet.

Garrett told one of the reporters, "I told the guys, lets be great today(wed) and then lets be great on thursday, then maybe we can be great on Sundays"

He is very much taking this one game at a time.
