One draft scenario

So a TE at 10 and then they don’t pick again till the end of the 2nd round and take a safety?

where’s the early 2nd round pick?

this would be terrible....but very like jerry to take a TE at 10

TRADE: Send 1.04 To Carolina Panthers, Receive 1.07, 2.39, 4.108

That would be the perfect trade. I would jump all over that in a heartbeat.

The 4th and 7th pick in the 2nd round would be a great start to day 2. The Cowboys should have 2 picks in round 3 also.

The 7th overall pick and 4 picks on day 2? Heck yeah!!!

I'm thinking you aren't aware how good that TE is?

Pitts is a problem. He's a mismatch. I want defense badly but will be thrilled if we added Pitts. Defenses will not know how to defend us.

he could be a potential all pro and it wouldn’t make our historically bad defense any better....that’s the problem not TE

I get that he’s probably an incredible player but we don’t need anything else from an offensive skill position player in the first round

There aren't a ton of impact defensive players in this year's top 10/15 unfortunately.

I want defense badly; I have for years.

But if my choices are reaching for a defensive player and adding a future All-Pro in Kyle Pitts, I'm taking Pitts.

My rankings for defensive players right now:

1. Caleb Farley CB Virginia Tech
2. Micah Parsons LB Penn State
3. Patrick Surtain CB Alabama
4. Gregory Rousseau DE Miami
5. Jaycee Horn CB South Carolina
6. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah LB Notre Dame
7. Kwity Paye DE Michigan
8. Jay Tufele DT USC

I'd take Pitts over everyone except the top 3 and I'd have to really think about it on 2 and 3.

Rousseau could end up really good but he's raw and hasn't shown yet he can play at his new weight.

I like all the trades, and although I am not thrilled with Pitts although I think he is a great value I don't like taking a TE that high.
Sub that pick with someone else I would be happy.
Think if we can stay in the top 4 we are in prime position for some great trade back opportunities. Would love to to trade back 2-3 times staying in the top 20 and stockpiling day 2 picks.

i get your point but there is no way on this earth they can’t spend the 1st pick on the defensive side with as bad as they are....honestly they have to try something.

I don’t know anything about college ball so if the player isn’t there then they would have to aggressively trade back, I just don’t know how they could take offense

Pitts is a game changer at the position in today's pass happy NFL. He could very well be the top rated player on our board depending where we select. Tomorrow game is big for our slotting. I heard Dane say they did 1,000 simulations and the Cowboys have a 56% chance of landing a top 5 pick, which isn't too high. I have been projecting the pick in that 8-12 range, which takes us out of that QB trade down range, but is excellent for the prospects we like.
