I agree from what we saw last year. The line didn't help though. Hopefully he's better. I'm more excited about Lawrence.

Posting highlights from the 4th preseason game doesn't necessarily help your opinion. Best thing to do is take a wait and see approach with the guy. No need to build expectations up for a player hasn't proved much in the league.

So laughable..what is this a courtroom??

Thanks for telling me, here I thought just generating conversation during this vast nothingness which is the offseason might be a smart thing to do (I'm such an idiot sometimes)

No need to build expectations up for a player hasn't proved much in the league.

So what exactly should the expectations be?? Please enlighten me...

Lance Dunbar. He's been looking great in otas and Broadus is expecting him to win the number 2 job over the rookie. We may see a good amount of him this season..

It was reported several times that Dunbar looks more confident and aware of his responsibilities in the offense. BB did report that he looks shifty and elusive coming out of the backfield on pass plays. We can only hope that the Cowboys will take advantage of any mismatches Dunbar might create; he may be a pleasant surprise this season.

Good highlights. I wonder if he will be in the mix at KR and maybe the backup PR.

They said last year that they were happy with his pass blocking and his special teams play.

I don't know if there will be a clear #2 RB. Dunbar and Randle should both get plenty of carries.

Why would Lawrence excite you more?

Kendial Lawrence, not Lawrence Vickers.

He probably likes him because he is very fast and looked good in college games.

Height: 5085
Weight: 194
40 Yrd Dash: 4.33
20 Yrd Dash: 2.54
10 Yrd Dash: 1.54
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 19
Vertical Jump: 37

Broad Jump: 10'05"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.33
3-Cone Drill: 6.95

They should be able to slide him to the practice squad. He just received the standard contract to sign as a UDFA. Other teams had the opportunity to offer more. Obviously, if he has some extreme performances in preseason, that could change.

If Dunbar is going to make any significant contribution it will most likely be catching passes out of the backfield.

I hope to see Dunbar come in and compete for the job as backup. However I am a bit more excited with the prospect of Joseph Randle. I saw a lot of him at Ok. St. and feel he can be a big help as a runner, reciever and kick returner.

I'm went to UNT and I've seen quite a bit of Dunbar in his college days. He was often the best player on the field, although the Sun Belt doesn't yield much in the way of competition.

Still, I thought he would be a steal for anyone who could pick him up as an UFA. I felt like, if given enough opportunities, he may be able to adjust to the speed of the game and be a nice change of pace back.

Dunbar is fast and actually looked pretty solid in the exhibition finale. Until we see Lawrence play, why be more excited about an unknown?

There were times last season where he showed nice moves and caught my eye on several plays.
He made guys miss and was able to extend plays.

From what i remember thinking anout him, He needed to get bigger without losing his quickness or speed & he could definetly be a contributor on offense and special teams on a weekly basis.

That's the one thing I love about this roster. It breeds competition. Guys like Dunbar fighting for a roster spot and even the #2 RB spot. Randle fighting to warrant his just being drafted. Murray fighting to prove he can be an every Down back in the NFL, And also prove that he can stay healthy.

The drafting of Randle is what really makes this all come together. In years past we would've just let Felix walk and gone with either Tanner or Dunbar or both. But this year we draft a running back who can probably start on some teams And it creates that competition all the way down to the UDFA's.

No. You posted an opinion. He posted a different opinion. Nothing more.

Thanks for telling me, here I thought just generating conversation during this vast nothingness which is the offseason might be a smart thing to do (I'm such an idiot sometimes)

What did he say that was so inflammatory? Dunbar was a rookie last year that didn't get the chance to show a whole lot. He looks good so far this summer, but there's only so much you can take from that.

So what exactly should the expectations be?? Please enlighten me...

At this point, I don't really know what to expect from him. I don't know if anyone does.

I like Dunbar, but he is still pretty much an unknown. We'll just have to see. Any time you post an opinion about a player, you're going to get response of varying degrees. Some will support, some will oppose. That's just the nature of a forum. Try not to take it too personally.

I agree. Disagreement, dissension, and even conflict is ok as long as its assertive and respectful. As a member I don't like to see conversation cut off by telling a poster they needn't have bothered to paraphrase. As a mod there are times it's discouraged. It's the offseason. Some devour all they can discarding what they wish.

I love this kid. I think he's going to be a big part of this thing. A poor man's Darren Sproles.
