It has been the practice of this team to either downplay or shrug off injuries for a long time. We've even seen the owner question players' injuries with Barber and Ratliff. Ratliff to the point of exiting the locker room hastily, if we can believe the story.
Cooper was definitely not himself yesterday and it's anybody's guess what's really wrong but this has been ongoing. Elliott takes himself out more this season than in the past and he's in shape, is there something we're unaware of with him? We're seeing some spin with Vander Esch as well. I also believe they were a lot more positive about Yosemite than the reality.
Part of this is smart football, don't let the enemy know the weakness but it goes beyond that with this team and their casual attitude towards injuries.
First of all, the GM addresses that, not the HC like on the other 31 teams. And he downplays anything that interferes with his sales job and spin. I believe that's why he handles that part of it. The HC is never as positive.
Just sayin, before we jump in on a player, there might be more than meets the eye with this team. Right now, there are players we are not aware of that will be having off season surgery to repair the damage.
With the balance of talent being so narrow in the NFL, just a minor injury that limits a player from being 100% can be a real difference maker.
