I see this One More Year thought thrown about regarding Garrett being on the hot seat, Marinelli retiring and Dak either getting a new deal or getting replaced. All three of these men have one more year?
I do not know where this comes from as I haven't seen Marinelli saying this is his last year and they just started building his D, why would he hang it up unless for health? The man has struggled mightily with injuries and missing players. Why walk away when it is looking up?
Not one person in the Cowboys organization has said that Garrett is on the hot seat and it's the playoffs or 3:10 to Yuma for him. Don't let media speculation, because they have nothing else better to do and have to fill the time and fill the Cowboys News quota, plant thoughts in your mind. Just my opinion but Garrett is family and we know how they treat family. He is not getting fired after this season. But we will have one more year of some wanting a crappy season just to get rid of him and that just baffles me.
This will be Dak's 3rd season with 1 remaining on his rookie contract, they do not have to do anything with the 2019 season with regards to a new deal. He would have to really come off the tracks or get injured significantly for either of these young QB's to take his place and if he isn't all that they want, he would still have that 4th season to fight for the QB1 spot with either a FA or high draft pick QB.
Lawrence may have one more year because of his salary demands and the same can be said for Martin as I will be surprised if they keep both. Collins may have one more year because of his injury issues. Jones may have one more year if he's not a CB and gets replaced in the starting lineup and may not be willing to be relegated to backup duty and ST.
However, the only one I would actually bet on having one more year is Linehan. I do think he's the sacrificial lamb should this not be a playoff season and the offense stumble in any way. He's Booger's "escape goat" should they feel the need for one.

this year will determine not IF he gets one but how big.
