Travis Henry. I am pretty sure he is starting this week.

This is a guy that Zach Thomas rated as the toughest RB to tackle that he has faced.

I had the pleasure of watching him while he was with Buffalo and he was nothing short of amazing posting 1450 yards / 12 TDs and 1350 yards / 10 TDs in back to back years ( only the second Bills RB to record back to back 10 rushing TD seasons ) and breaking tons of tackles along the way. The latter season was in 2003 which was the year Buffalo lost alot of players on offense , Moulds sustaining a groin injury which limited him to only 64 catches on the year and Bledsoe only managing 11 TD passes that year. He can also catch the ball out of the backfield which is the most underrated part of his game. He caught over 40 passes in 2002.

He is the type of back that wears defenses down. You start to think you have him under control and then his 2 and 3 yard runs start turning into 10 and 12 yarders.

Now I am sure the Titans offensive line will not allow him to get into any rythm BUT I hope Dallas puts the game away early just incase. If the Titans stuck with the running game against the Dolphins then they would have won the game.. gave up to early on it after consecutive runs were stuffed in the backfield.

Yea , Yea. I am crazy.

That was then, this is now, JMead... since that terrific season, Henry has played 22 games, has 212 carries for 743 yards-- a 3.5 average... he has 2 TDs in that time, and only 2 carries of 20 yards or more...

Now I am sure the Titans offensive line will not allow him to get into any rythm

It IS a pretty bad offensive line...

If the Titans stuck with the running game against the Dolphins then they would have won the game.. gave up to early on it after consecutive runs were stuffed in the backfield.

Uhhh, they gained 62 yards on 22 carries in that game, pal... a long of 11 yards...

Uhhhhhh , Henry at one point had 18 carries for 70 yards ( or was it 15 for 60 something? ). Couple bad plays later and -10 yards they gave up on running the ball.

The two seasons I listed was the only 2 seasons he was a starter. In 04 he got injured early on in the year and Willis got the bulk of the carries the rest of the way. Since joining the Titans he averages about 12 carries a game while backing up Chris Brown.

If anyone else decides to post in this thread.. Please bring some facts and not assumptions.

Oooh, that's different then... let's call the folks at Canton, get them workin' on that bust...

Don't know why you got all sarcastic on me, but I can play that game...

Couple bad plays later and -10 yards they gave up on running the ball.

Those plays count too, you know...

And how about the other 2 games this year??

The two seasons I listed was the only 2 seasons he was a starter.

And the most recent was 3 years ago... besides, as you yourself admit a bit later in this defensive response, he's not getting starter's carries in Tennessee (which also suggests his game isn't what it once was, since the Titans can use all the help they can get)...

If anyone else decides to post in this thread.. Please bring some facts and not assumptions.

Exactly which facts that I brought (my response was statistically based) were incorrect??

Seems YOU'RE the one making assumptions, without any real basis for them-- you're assuming that Travis is the same back he was in 03...

I tried approaching you in a friendly manner (folks in here will tell you that I can be VERY confrontational when I feel like it, but nothing you wrote deserved that), but it seems you get all p*ssy when somebody dares to contradict your "expert" opinion...

So go ahead, instead of trying to insult me (as if that would phase me), rebut ANY of the stats I gave you... and don't be so arrogant as to say I haven't "brought facts", when I give you all those stats to chew on...

BTW, Henry has averaged a tad under TEN carries a game since joining the Titans-- 118 carries, 12 games, do the math... not 12 a game, as you claimed...

Perhaps you should make more of an effort to "bring the facts" before runnin' off at the mouth...

if your talking about the Travis Henry that is averaging a whopping 2.7yds per carry this yr, why do we need to watch out for him?

3.5, 3.8, 2.7...thats his last 3 seasons yds per carry...if we have trouble with him something is seriously wrong

Apparently, JMead has a mild case of Dan Snyder Disease-- he thinks if a player used to be good, he's always gonna be good... seems he doesn't realize that two seasons with a lot of carries, followed by a coupla injury-plagued seasons, might have robbed him of some of what he had back then...

Rick Gosselin: No rest for defense as Titans go nowhere

The Tennessee Titans have talent on defense. What they don't have is a chance. Not with this offense. Which is why the Titans are 0-3 and spinning their wheels in the rebuilding process.

The Titans share the league lead in turnovers on offense with eight. As a result, they rank last in the NFL in time of possession, with an average of 23 minutes, 58 seconds a game.

So Tennessee is asking its defense to play more than 36 minutes per game. The best defenses in history would wear down if they had to play 36 minutes every Sunday.

Last weekend, the Titans gave a valiant defensive effort, holding the Dolphins to 289 yards and 13 points in Miami. But the Titans were asked to play defense for more than 35 minutes in the Florida humidity. The Dolphins drove 50 yards in the final minutes for the game-winning field goal.

The Titans have two veteran Pro Bowlers on defense, end Kyle Vanden Bosch and linebacker Keith Bulluck. Bulluck, tackle Albert Haynesworth and cornerback Pacman Jones are former first-round picks.

In addition, first-day draft picks Travis LaBoy (second rounder), Antwan Odom (second) and Randy Starks (third) are all part of the defensive line rotation.

The Titans signed Vanden Bosch, linebacker David Thornton and safeties Chris Hope and Lamont Thompson in free agency. Hope started in the Super Bowl last February for Pittsburgh. Thornton has started in an AFC title game for the Colts.

Offensively, the Titans rank 30th in rushing. That's where an offense builds up time of possession. When you can run the football, you run the clock. That keeps your defense rested

I agree, Henry worries me too. Hes the type of back that our front 7 struggles with.
