People are just looking at future weeks too. They dont want the defense to play like that all year. How many games do you think we will win when our pass defense plays like that? We would have no chance against the top notch NFL teams.

You're right. I think that most of us were fantasying about dominating on defense. I know I was.

Shockey, even though I cant stand him...he is one of the better TEs

Toomer and Plex, one of the better WR corps ine the league

not "top notch", but exactly how many teams have a top notch passing game exactly? New England comes to mind...who else?

yeah, our pass D didnt play good, but the COWBOYS WON!!!!

and I doubt they will play D like that all season...

I'm a 24 year Mets fan and i see it every day on MLB. Every time they lose a game the "ya, so what if we're still in first, we still suck" threads come out. It gets really old.

Every NFL team deals with injuries and bad performances. We won and that's the point. Can we give up 35 every week? Well no, but make some improvements going into Miami and go from there.

The defense is not going to be giving up 35 points every week, and the offense is not going to put up 45 points every week....Every game is independent of the next.....the object is to score more than your opponent that week.... ...in Coachspeak-----Play one game at a time.

The "top notch teams" you are talking about are also going to be in some tough games, look ordinary and probably lose some.....anyway, just asking to not overreact, it's only the first game! And guess what? Dallas won....next, MIAMI.

Im not one thats overreacting by any means. Im just saying that there is a SMALL reason for some to do so.

The reason is the defense looks as bad as the defense last year down the stretch. This is not like this is an aberration for this defense with most the same core intact plus a suppose upgrade at FS. Until the defense proves other wise you are what you are and since after the Indy game last year the defense is pathetic and nothing has changed week one this year.

So I am still trying to decide how it is knee jerk the same players have shown nothing. When is the defense going to step up for once and show up.
