he needs to stop trying to throw the guy while he is being tackled....it just looks like an injury waiting to happen. Saw him do it few times.

Agreed. It's also a fumble waiting to happen. It exposes the ball too much. He'll learn, but other than that he looked great Sunday all things considered.

In my opinion, that is pent-up frustration expressing itself from lack of playing time over the past year. That should subside after he has gotten a few more games under his belt.

Nailed it!!!

He's just used to being bigger and stronger than the DBs who try to tackle him, from his college days. I'll admit seeing him do it I liked the nasty attitude he was showing, but it's definitely too big a risk for fumbling to do all the time.

Ironically, I never saw him do that in all those college highlights I saw of him.

He's still pretty strong, he strugged his shoulders and flipped D.Hall to the ground but D.Hall didn't let go and London finished him off on that one screen.

Which gives more credence to what DE said about him just being pissed off for being away from the game for a year.... ;)

I liked the attitude also, to me it show's he's hungry and wants to perform. But you guys are right about the risk. First time seeing Dez, didnt know the kid was that dam big!

I noticed how well he caught the ball. Especially in close quarters. It just vanished into those mits.

I don't see him hardly ever fumbling with those giants hands rapped around the ball.

The size of his hands stand out on TV.

I like the spirit of it...but it's a lame move at this level.

Or was he pissed that it was another Screen that he was told to run. :)

Man, I wanted to see him running a route down the field early.

But yeah, he kept trying to throw the guy off and get a couple extra yards. This is the NFL....that time trying to throw the guy off just lets another guy get to you and hit you....there was one hit where he hit the ground awkwardly and was out for a few plays to the point where some people on here were wondering if he got hurt.

This, seriously. And I suspect the Skins players were trash talking the rookie and he wanted to make them pay.

His size in comparison to others kinda surprised me too. Big, fast, mean, with basketball palming hands..:D Gotta love it.

he's been off the field so long that when he finally got the ball in his hands he didn't want it to end. He's playing with a chip on his shoulders right now. With a few more outings I'm sure he'll settle in nicely.

I think it's that, plus the fact that he's playing with a chip on his shoulder because 23 teams passed on him in the draft. I know in the back of his mind, that he is especially pissed because he was easily the best receiver in the draft and a receiver WITH A BROKEN FOOT coming from a triple-option offense in college that didn't have half the talent Dez had was picked ahead of him. I think we'll see Dez with a chip on his shoulder all season long.

Why? RBs do it all the time. He's a superb athlete who is physically superior to some of his would be tacklers.

Hell, I'd encourage him to do it.
