umm actually what happens is that in three receiver sets, tnew slides over to slot, glenn slides to newmans normal cb spot. ya think opposing teams may have figured that out as well?

I have no idea. How many times can we get burned on the same play before we realize it? We need to fire zimmer, the defensive scheme we have is complete garbage.

I agree on the Glenn discussion.

One thing Im dying to know is anyone who has watched the Commanders minimally this season knows that they ALWAYS go to Cooley in the end zone.
Yet he was WIDE OPEN yesterday. Twice.
What gives?

on the first one it looked like roy had to guard sellars and cooley.

he picked sellars and left cooley.

somebody else was supposed to be back there helping.

Does anyone else find it almost a given that Steve Smith is gonna go in motion a lot this next game? and that zimmer/parcells wont do a damn thing about it, and let Glenn get absolutely killed? Smith might have another 200 yard game.

I don't think they mentioned it on TV, but they talked about this extensively on the radio. Newman was playing Moss all over the field -- until he got knocked woozy. I'm pretty sure that long pass to Moss happened on the first play after Newman was on the sidelines telling the trainer he was Batman.

Exactly....Newman wasn't even on the field

What do you propose we do about their motion? Strategically position snipers and instruct them to open fire at the first hint of Steve Smith going in motion?

:lmao2:

I don't think Glenn has been lights out but to insinuate he's hurt our team? More than Jacque Reeves would've in the same position or Nathan Jones or Pete Hunter would have had he been given the opportunity is insanity.

I hope Newman is feeling better, and shadows Steve Smith all game. I remember hearing him talk after our 2003 playoff game when he got abused by Steve Smith. He sounded like he really wanted revenge...well here's his chance.

I saw the same thing. Glenn was playing LCB and Reeves was in the slot while Newman was out. Glenn has to play better than that. Moss is talented, but it is not as if he had to go through Glenn on that play. He just ran and waited for the ball while Glenn mistimed his jump again.

Glenn has been valuable for Dallas this season except when covering Moss.

I just find it funny that people want to bash Zimmer for this when the real problem was the rush defense. I will gladly agree with criticism of that facet of the game.

I think you can actually be a little more specific than rush defense. The problem is our linebackers, in both rush and pass defense. Our biggest weakness on offense is our offensive line. Our biggest weakness on defense is our linebacking corpse.

I thought Newman was shaken up from the hit he took from Portis? I hope and pray that Glenn isn't on Steve Smith this week?

There were two hits on that play. Newman came up and collided with Dockery. Actually, knocked Dockery back a little, but also spun Terrance around a little leaving him open to a free shot by Portis. There was no pursuit to get Portis on that play. Like TheEngima said, the weakness of the team, the linebackers, were not in position to make a tackle.

On one play Cooley was Ware's man to cover, and the second time, it was Roy Williams.

Ware go juked, and Roy thought he had extra help I guess.
