The next HC of the Dallas Cowboys has a refrigerator full of quality groceries. The next HC won't have to spend a year or two bringing the team up to speed. In that respect, I thank Parcells. In every other respect, I am elated to see him gone. Here's to getting some new blood in here that motivates the talent already in place, shores up our Oline situation, and leads these guys to the next level.

Depends on some things.

It is not all cut and dry.

Depends on what type of Offense and Defensive system they want to use.

Defensively, yes. Offensively not so much.

Offrensively we are still loaded and if the new HC gets the right people in place our offense will become even more explosive. The key is to put your playmakers in position to make plays. I'm confident that will happen. Why? Simply because the alternative was another year of 8-8, 9-7. I'm excited again.

The other very important key is to beef up the Oline with some "quality". If we do that the rest of the NFC East is in trouble.

We averaged over 25 points a game under an offensive scheme that was not willing to be dynamic enough to accentuate the talents of its performers. I believe a new regime, with their ability to scheme to the talent in place, will put even more points up on the board. This offense has some firepower. We just need an Oline like it's noone's business.

Rest of the East was supposed to be in trouble this year.

Yet an average OL, and lack of pressure on defense didnt really help the Cowboys much.

You're correct. A significant event took place today. Thanks to this significant moment I am very confident the pressure and oline issues will be much improved in 07.

I wonder if Jerry Jones is sold on Romo as the starter. If not, we could be in for a few years of "re building" regardless of who the coach is. Maybe JJ has already laid this to rest and I missed it. But i do remember, he was not overly excited when Romo Replaced Drew B this year. I just hope that whoever JJ brings in as HC, he lets him Coach.. and won't try to coach from the owners box like he did through out the 90's.

I sincerely hope he learned his lesson from this. Whenever I see him down on the sidelines during a game it makes me cringe. I haven't seen a lot of that lately. Perhaps it was the Parcells factor. I just think he has learn a bit of a lesson. Time will tell.

I think he has, just last week he said he was confident that Romo was the future QB of the Cowboys.

No one has been hired yet and you are already praising them for "their ability to scheme to talent in place". Now had you used the word "IF" in place I might agree. But its "the grass is greener with someone else, anyone else "mentality that bothers me. Sometimes you get what you wanted and it isnt as good as what you had.

I say what I say with the confidence that Jerry will put the right pieces in place. I'm not prematurely praising anyting. If anything, I am praising Jerry.

The grass will be greener. I'm hopeful of that. I'm no longer pessimistic about the direction of this franchise. The glass is no longer half empty to me. Jerry has some work to do and I am confident he will do it well. I'm just as excited today as we all were 4 years ago when Jerry announced Parcells was coming to coach the Cowboys. It's time to take the next step forward.

That was before Romo did what he did.

And let's not foret. Jerry Jones is the guy who thought Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson and Ryan Leaf were good ideas for potentially solving the QB issue on this team.

As a matter of fact, if Jerry doesn't think Romo is right, Romo probably IS right.
