One thing that gets lost on many every year

Every year we have posters who attack those that get worked up over losses early in the season. They call people over-reactors, they claim it's a long season ahead. Well in this league every single game counts, this isn't baseball. Last year it was Dez's finger nails out of bounds and this year take your pick...Denver, Detroit, Green Bay. Any of those games we gave away would have put is in the offseason.

Yes, and we easily could have lost against the Vikings, Skins, Raiders. That's pretty much the definition of 8-8, .500, mediocrity. You win your share of games, you lose your share and you usually sit home for the playoffs.

Philly finished 10-6. We would need 2 games

other teams chose to win, we had our chances and chose to lose, i called it early in teh season, i saw Garrett once again not just showing, but proving HE CAN NOT, WILL NOT, be able to coach this team.

Choose to lose?

I get you're upset but I didn't see a team that wanted to lose.

Maybe you're over valuing the talent on this team

especially on defense

But I saw a team that fought till the end except against Chicago and NO where they were just overwhelmed and over matched.

Yout are absolutely right. Thats why it drives me nuts when I hear people saying "look how close we are...look at the Detroit, KC, Green Bay games..we are so close to being 11-5"..

Oh no we're not. because if you're gonna take those close losses and change them to wins...then you have to take the close wins and change them to losses.

I can't LIKE this post enough. Every game counts and I at the "at least it wasn't a div game" absolutions.

10-6 is light years better than 9-7 or 8-8. Plus winning feeds on itself. Confidence is huge in this league. When you finish against decent teams, you learn How to win. This team doesn't have the confidence to consistently win. Or maybe the word attitude. Other teams expect a choke and I think it has infested the entire org.

Then its an excuse to say, but look..dez fingertips, etc.

Good post

Detroit, and don't forget KC. In hindsight we can look back and say, sure, we lost on the road to one of the best teams in the NFL, but that early in the season, we lost a one point game coming out of the gate that we had a shot to win and just played too sloppily to do so

It is my opinion that Jason Garrett will go down as the worse coach in Cowboys history before he is fired or Jerry dies. He is just that damn bad. The guy is the master speaker, but the measly coach. He gives waay more audio than video. He is the epitome of nepotism ( which seems to be the norm in the Jones and Garrett family). Finally, he benefits from Jerry's ego. That is to say, he is Jerry's project. If he fails, Jerry fails. God, I want to be rid of this guy....

P.S. I'm not too fond of Jerry either.

As bad as it was. We won 8 games with that practice squad defense. No one I mean no one thought the defense would be decimated worse than it was last year. I want to be real we have had 19 different DL play for this team that is a little over 1 new DL a game. Our LBers like last year get dinged were starting rookies and out of position guys at LBer. Should Jerry be blamed for the depth issues sure. But it is not like this team especially on defense was scaring anyone. I mean we switched defenses and out of the gate 2 starters and rotational guy gone. Rob Ryan is in NO saying, "Damn good thing I got fired last year."
