What if Mike Holmgren did the same thing last year in our game against Seattle? As annoying as that call is, it could easily backfire. I think the NFL will keep the rule the same, but eventually these things will even out and teams will stop doing it.

The rule is wrong because it is unfair to the kicker and kicking team. The kicker has no way to know and had to treat it as a real one. It is like asking a RB to go into piles of 300 lbers for nothing. Not to mention the emotional drain on the 'winnging" team and fans.

As far as seattle game. It is totally different.

1. It is not end-of-game FG. There was 1'30" left and Seattle would have needed th TO's to score if we had scored.

2. It was a 23 yarder. There is no point to ice the kicker. It is a gimme in NFL.
3. Seattle had its own trick. The slipery ball.
