I live in the DC area and it was the coldest/windiest day of the year so far. The false start call on the FG attempt at the end of the game was BS (one of many calls that could've gone the 'other way'), but the wind was crazy all day and certainly affected Maher's kick (I don't remember Nance or Romo saying anything about it). Even Justin Tucker missed an extra point up in Baltimore which cost them the game (Tucker doesn't
miss those). Of course there was no wind Saturday or Monday - but that's football.

With the addition of Amari Cooper, it'll be interesting to see if Dak, Garrett, and/or Linehan are here at the start of next season. SOMEONE will be gone if the boys don't make the playoffs [and win a game or 2]. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jerry really shake things up at the end of the year. This trade is very telling (in my opinion)!

I think you're right. The trade gives them until the end of the year for the offensive coaches, and until the end of next to decide re: Dak.

Romo mentioned it about 50 times

Not complicated
Cooper gives them breathing room until the end of the year
linehan and marinelli will be scapegoats at the end of the year
The caravan moves on next year with new coordinators
If things work, great, if not, the mantra of the FO will be "it's a new offensive system, they need another year"

By then we're into 2020

Rinse and repeat

It stinks the senses that if they miss the playoffs AGAIN, Garrett will still survive.

Amazing.

The thing is, i watched the "wind flags" before the kick and during the kick and i saw no movement. I could be mistaken on this but im pretty sure there was nothing there. There was a whole lot of calls missed on both sides, but more blatant holy crap how could you miss that call ref that should have been in the cowboys favor.

Dak misses way to many open WR's so im not sure Cooper is going to be that big of a deal. Dont get me wrong i like the deal and the reasoning behind it. But its Dak, he just misses too many open guys. 2 guys were open when he was sacked and fumbled at the goal line. Gallup was wide open for what would have been a 90 yard TD. He also had Zeke open in the flat.

Anyway, didnt mean to rant about dak. Just still frustrated at Dak, even though he played his heart out, but im ticked at JG too for not playing for the win on the road.

JG is gone if they dont make the playoffs and there will be no excuse at all that can help him out now that Cooper is here.

Romo explained that the wind flags are worthless to what kind of wind there really is at field level.

That fumble on the td was on the OL, he didn't miss it, they didn't give Dak time to get it to Gallup.

Sure hope it is red and Linehan and whole coaching crew that is gone. They will ride with Dak next year for sure.

They mentioned the wind but not on that kick.

I watched a gif of the play. He had more than enough time to make the pass to Gallup or Zeke. If I knew how to post gifs i would show ya. But I dont. Sorry about that

I'll have to disagree on that.....go back and watch the replay and count how long Dak had. I'm wanting Dak to succeed, but he has to be faster getting the ball out, he had 4 seconds to do something....anything.

Marinelli goes no where. But there is hope all the coaching staff stay on. The zone would be miserable with lack of compliant

It was reported that the Commanders' staff tipped the officials off of long snapper moving the ball. A thing that he has done all the time in the 15 years he has been playing. He even did the same thing on the next play but it wasn't called. Go figure.

Had Mahre been closer the kick would have been good. If he had better coaching, he could have had an easy one instead of 52 yards in wonky winds. Hell, might have even won if they'd gone for the win but why break with tradition.

Romo commented that the winds were unpredictable and would kick up at any moment in the middle of a play.

The offense, including the QB and coaches had all the signs of a team playing for a tie. A moral victory for the brain trust.

Just a bunch of gutless, spineless, yellow bellied, chicken livered, cowering in the corner, surrendering, foxhole jumping swine turds. The only good thing about that jerk wad is that he saved us from watching an OT loss.

well I think it is on jg and linehan, in that situation you dont call a pass play.
if they go with a run of some sort, even a delay draw, your qb isnt in the end zone fumbling.

So just run few times and punt if no 1st down.

well that is the same thing that happened with the butler penalty in 2016, the other team saw a dallas flaw, and notified officials to look for it.
The def probably jumped just to alert officials or make them call it in that crucial situation.

So again good coaching on other team , bad on JG side.

Garrett really did his kicker a disservice. The team had plenty of time to play for more than a 50 yard field goal.

It wasn't a 50 yard fg until after the penalty, it was 47. If you can't hit a 47, even with wind which wasn't that bad at the time of the kick then you shouldn't be kicking. I was at the game.
