One week out and Golden is becoming the chalk pick for the Cowboys

Does McMillan have the potential to be the next Larry Fitzgerald? I know that's a big ask of a player, but if it's there then I can see the reason to want him over Golden. Frankly, I think he's more comparable to someone like Plaxico Burress,
McMillan, if he reaches his maximum potential, looks like AJ Green to me. He’s not a Larry type.

McMillan is big, fast enough, but not fast. He is very, very smooth and uses his size well.

Also, he has natural hands and catches everything.

Lamb and Smith are in the same ballpark speed wise. Smith is not some burner. AJ Brown is not some burner either.

Golden runs fast. Great. People's obsession with speed is weird, especially when you get beyond the run fast part and you see some draft guys stating there are concerns with Golden's hands, etc.

Golden would be your classic shiny toy pick from the Cowboys. McMillan is the better choice if both are there and you want to go WR, especially with the QB we have. If McMillan is gone, then trade down or ignore Golden and go DE or DT or even OL.
They also have 4 big bodied WRs that lack speed, plus Golden is more than just a speed guy. He does a great job changing up his pace to match the play design and to get separation, something desperately needed by a #2 in this offense.

He is probably the 2nd best route runner in this draft.

Dak only throws to open receivers. Golden can get separation and gets open.
Your not going to get a Romo to Dez play with Dak to McMillan.
Some truth here. I'd rather wait till round 3 Deonte Thornton and wouldn't be mad if they pulled the trigger in round 2

Yeah, I'm not married to either of these guys. I just hope whoever turns out best is who we select.

Think he'll be better than Burress was. I think he can be a true #1. We'd be back to having two WRs with #1 talent.

Then again, my preference is Tyler Warren then Tet.
Hopefully, if we select him, that turns out to be true. We just need to hit on who we pick. I'm not a fan of taking a tight end in the first, but if we could get a Day 2 pick back for Ferguson or Schoonmaker, I'd be good with it. I'm afraid we could get higher than a fourth. Warren could be a pretty big upgrade, but I feel like it is kind of spinning wheels by replacing a player we don't need to replace.

My question is if Golden is the pick, why telegraph it like this unless he's not?

I'll be OK with McMillan, Golden, or Warren...even Burden or Bech.

Just get difference makers.

Golden is a good player, but bad timing for what we need right now. Unless we can find us some bullies in rds 2 onward. That's the only way the wr pick will move the needle. I don't want Dak flinging it too much.

I'm thinking Tyler Warren at 12 might be the better pick if we MUST go offense at 12, unless Jeanty is there of course.

Hardline is definitely married to one of these guys.
I just don't like to pretend that I know how players are going to turn out. I have my preferences, but that doesn't mean much. Most of us haven't watched every prospect in every game that they've played in college and scouted their strengths and weaknesses. We depend on highlights, breakdowns and draft experts.

I thought Bobby Carpenter was going to be a player, but didn't really like the Mazi Smith first-round selection. Like most others, I would have taken T.J. Watt over Taco Charlton, but I wasn't upset with the Charlton pick because he was taken about where he was supposed to go. I wanted a Jalen Ramsey-Derrick Henry combo in 2016.

You get some right, you get some wrong, so I don't try to push hard the players that I like anymore. I'd draft Jeanty if he fell to 12, but I can't say that would be the best path for us. I'd probably take Golden first among the receivers (other than Hunter), but maybe McMillan will be the next AJ Green.

Yeah, I don’t have the time to study all these prospects. There’s probably 30-40 prospects I have strong opinions based on watching them.

Cuz no one else is dumb enough to look at him this early.

Even the Cowboys know he’s not covered by anyone else at 12.

Not sure how much they telegraphed it other than Stephen saying they need to add an explosive No. 2 receiver. The comments from Golden about meeting with Jerry and him FaceTiming with his mom came from Golden's side. No one has specifically said we want to draft Golden, just an explosive No. 2.

Right. It just smells funny.
