One weird trick that's given success to Dallas' O-line

One thing I've noticed is that on every running touchdown, multiple Dallas lineman are always downfield, congratulating Murray or Randle 1-2 seconds after they score a TD. That's tenacity, that's impressive, to the point that the offensive line has better pursuit of the running backs than the defensive line does!!!

Of course, I can't be too hard on defensive line, one or more of them were probably pancaked on the play. I'm lovin' this running game!!

(Oh, and I hate the "weird trick" phenomenon that's sweeping the internet, I'm really just making fun of it in my headline.)

Sometimes they are downfield because they are clearing the way

This reads like a click bait title:

This one weird trick the Jaguars don't want you to know!

I think just the fact that the Murray run game is so much of a distraction in itself to defenses, because he's such a threat, the Cowboys can use that so well to establish so many diff looks that it throws off so many defenses,
as the Dline rushes in, Murray is already downfield and if he's gone by the Free safety already, then by that time the Dline is back field scratching their Heads...Murray's a beast this year!

Actually I was thinking about it, and Martin, Frederick, and Learly are always there congratulating guys down the field. The new blood has made a big difference not just in the talent on the team, but in it's overall approach. I think that's worth note, even if it sounds a bit silly.

That's exactly my point, downfield blocking, EVERY TIME, is the "weird trick"

Your point was great. I swear I had flashbacks of Emmitt when I saw them do that in a specific game. Forget which one??

Your point deserved a shout out! ;-)

More impressively and importantly, that's new YOUNG blood!

My favorite play of the game was Leary (I think) and Martin pulling left on a run outside. Leary got a guy and Martin looked around, found no one to hit ahead, and just did a 180 to hit some guy that was clearly going to make no impact on the play. It was like he knew he'd get in trouble if he didn't put a hat on someone no matter what.

I think I know the play you're talking about, with 8:20 left in the 3rd quarter. It shows something about the O-line, Zach Martin pulls with Leary, then realizes there's only one defender to block. He whips back to seal the only defender gaining any momentum toward Murray. Probably wouldn't have made a difference either way, but it represents the attitude of the line. It's going to be a photo finish to decide which of Dallas Big 3 on the line is the best. Zach Martin might get the edge, which is incredible, considering it's his rookie year!

Let them sort it all out at the Pro Bowl... wait, I hope that NONE of them are at the Pro Bowl this year.

I don't know why didn't call the touchdown play more often last year.

Not silly at all and I agree.

There's a lot of friendships building on this team. That's important, IMO.

These guys actually like to hang out with each other and that transfers to the field.
