I didn’t play Texas holdem for a long while and got the itch last week. I have been watching the ClubWPT tourneys on TV. After weeks of advertising their online play, I signed up. To keep it short, the wife said deposit using Paypal......I used my debit card

Within 12 hours, my account got hacked and was used in 14 different countries. Every transaction was under $200 and got hit for 27 charges. This all happened so fast too but I didn’t notice until two days later. I went to buy a big gulp and some gasoline and my card was declined a few times. I called the bank to see why and my card was locked.

I am glad my bank caught the fraudulent charges and refunded the money but I can no longer play online poker, the wife grounded me :lmao:

I thought a reputable online site would be fine, lesson learned the hard way

Damn, sorry to hear that man. Scumbag scammers are the worst. Last year, I got hit by one of those things they put on the gas station pumps that grabs your card info. They took 1300 bucks out of my account and it was months before I got it back.

I got hit the same way awhile back playing under Ignition casino using my credit card. They have to fool your credit card company initially to let the initial charge go through. But hackers must know this, or their selling our info, etc.

I switched over to Betonline but now use Bitcoin and a wallet to transfer funds for deposit. This is the new way to play for US players unfortunately. But tell your wife you won't get robbed if you want to play again, etc. (probably a hard sell right now :D) They have a good bitcoin tutorial that walks you through it; took me about 10 mins total to set it up.

Geez, thought they were a safe one too. Thanks for the telling me the vendor. My cc won't let me use them on the websites anymore. They got hip to my $300 dinners in North Dakota though I've never been to the state...

You have no recourse when they stiff you and they know that.

I tried a little about 10 years ago. Quit after I kept losing to fish who call and bet everything. I'm pretty sure these sites are full of bots that know a winning hand before it's played.

On one of my last runs I made out after hitting several amazing hands in a day, but overall I had lost money. Said no more.

Not sure if you were traveling but I always go to the same gas station and familiarize myself with the card reader.

Same thing happened to my friend.... and it's why I try to only get gas at the same couple of places I always do.

Deposited money 2-3 times. It was obvious pretty quick that the cards are manipulated. I EMailed them about it, so they told me to keep a log. I did. Manalive, you guys should've seen the crapp that was happening. Gave them the log, complete w/ hand and table numbers and all, but then that wasn't good enough. So, now I just play some play money games to pass the time.

Like OGCowboy, I simply wait to put real money in until I'm face to face.
