is at least none of the players Cowboys possibly interested in (Fabini, Longwell, Neal, and Chavous have been reported travelling to meet with other teams. Only exception is Mawae and Cowboys talked to his agent; so we registered our interest & he coming in for a visit/let's us know before he planning sign w/another team or he wants too much money. I don't expect big time signing, but signing player at needed position sure would improve my mood & many others on this forum.

Well there is the positive spin that no one in the league is doing much. Of all the top tier FAs I can only think of one being signed (Bentley).

The only top players signing today are ones who teams are greatly overpaying or that want to play for a specifc team or coach.

All I know is ...

Yea, I am satisfied with the progress so far. I am sure the boys are running up the long distance bills and using cell minutes out the ying yang right now. They are not sitting on their hands and a slew of signings will follow shortly.

This shows they are working it.

Sit back and enjoy it. Sure beats sitting here getting upset nothing happening.

No news is good news. I still think JJ is one of the most elite owners and BP is not an idiot either. They 're not rushing into a hasty mistake, hopefully. I'm sitting on pins and needles too waiting for our turn on "_____ (insert player) signed by the Dallas Cowboys" but I trust JJ.

I like the korvier signing. that dude can play any position on the line pretty much. this is a good thing. and he is effective. good depth. and if we release allen we have a competition between peterman and korvier.

allen was slow last year and didnt open up holes as much as he needed to. he did shine sometimes. but if we keep allen it is also good to have somebody who can fill in more effectively than tucker or guroude.

Browns | Bentley on way to Cleveland
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 09:14:55 -0800

610 WIP Sports Radio in Philadelphia reports free agent C LeCharles Bentley (Saints) is on his way to Cleveland to visit the Cleveland Browns. It was earlier reported that Bentley had already agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles and there was a rumor that he was going to visit the Eagles on Saturday, March 11.
so much for everyone getting out ahead of us.rumors don't mean much guys

are folks surprised? isn't this what has been reported all along -- we'll be aggressive but we aren't going after any big name guys.

go Cleveland. If Philthy doesn't get Bentley its going to be....ONCE AGAIN, because they are too cheap. They have big $$$ every year for FAs and the only ones of note that they have signed are Kearse and TO, of course maybe they learned their lesson after both of those busts.
I know I read that Bentley wanted to play in Cleveland anyway, although that makes no sense to me. Even if it is your hometown, I'd think the potential to play for a champion would carry more weight. Pony up Brownies!

Patience, Grasshoppers! I would much rather be happy from September through January than just in early March. Last year we were pretty happy early on but the team deteriorated during the season and didn't even make the playoffs.

mickey reported that we're probably only going to be looking at 2nd tier free agents.

Not happy if all our signings are 2nd tier players, unless some of them have big upside. It's always nice to get bargains, but sometimes you get what you paid for.

If Ayondale (sp?) here and he's good (never saw him play), sure hope we sign him and then also sign Longwell--who is a must unless we definitely opt to pay Vinatiera big money.
