Only Ratliff and Ware make ProBowl

Romo deserves it over eli and I believe Tyron Smith should have made it over Bushrod.

Probably a couple players will be added to squad provided we don't advance to the CCG.

The only players I thought deserved to go were Romo and Ware. I think because our OLine has been so bad, Witten was stuck blocking more than he normally should have been. I think Tyron will make most rookie all-pro teams. He has such a huge upside that if we can find a stud center in the draft and bring in some quality FA guards, our Oline will be a force next year.

I hate the Pro-Bowl.

Imagine snubbing Newman and Ball. :laugh2:

Seriously, it is a popularity contest that winning teams have the advantage in. The same every year.

Does anyone know when the final Pro Bowl ballots were in? That does play a role in who could actually receives this accolade, and it could explain why Eli was chosen ahead of Romo. I want to say it was shortly after the Giants beat the Cowboys. If that is the case, then his late-game touchdowns to lead the Giants to a win might have tipped the scales in his favor. If the balloting was completed the following week, then it can't be overlooked that Eli's three interception performance against the Commanders severely hurt his team, and it allowed the Cowboys to regain the divison lead.

Gonzalez over Witten? The Pro Bowl is a popularity contest.

Just reviewed the stats of both players, and it is very close. There really isn't that much of a difference between the two this year. Both players are ahead of each other in certain categories.

It appears to me that teams have made more of an effort to neutralize Witten this year, and to some degree, they have been successful. Compared to previous seasons, Witten is having a down year.

Catches are down for Witten but he is having a CAREER year as regards average per catch; and he is just above average for TDs and yards per game. So saying he is having a down year is WRONG.

WRONG, he IS having a down year compared to what he accomplished the past two seasons. His receptions, yards, and yards per game are down, and he likely won't match last year's touchdown totals.

He can still reach the 80 catch threshold, but that would still be a decrease compared to what he has averaged over the past four seasons. It is true that his yards per reception and yards after catch are up, but in reviewing his entire body of work, he has had better years.

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve to make the Pro Bowl, but I don't think he has quite seperated himself enough this year to get the nod over Gonzalez. Just my opinion.

I'm glad for Ware and Rat however I can't honestly agree with the selection.

Ware deserves to be there, Rat I like the guy but I have a hard to justifying his selection. Romo and Witten should have been added.

Newton should have made it over both eli and romo. spectacular year for a guy everyone predicted would be a bust .

But especially Stafford over eli and romo. just sayin

Witten I knew would likely get left out cause there are only 2 TE slots and 4 TE's in the NFC that definately deserved the nod.

Witten, Tony G, Graham, and Vernon Davis all deserved a shot at being in the pro bowl so obviously 2 would be left out. You can even throw Finley in there as a deserving canidate. It's way crowded at the TE position in the NFC so that hurts guys chances.

Romo absolutely more than ever deserved to be in this year but I was pretty sure he'd get left off for Eli. It's how the Pro Bowl works I suppose.

There were only 3 Cowboys that I thought should be in the Pro Bowl, and deserved it, and i figured all along only 1 of them would make it.

Romo, Witten, Ware

Obviously Ware was the only one who wasn't going to get left out. I'm actually surprised to see Ratliff make it.

I could believe my ears this morning listening to sports radio talk in NY on my way to work. Whoever the replacement guy was at the Fan (66am), he was actually saying, to the dismay of his other announcer, that he thought Romo deserved it more than Eli.

Romo's stats are MUCH better, they have the same record. The Eli homers were arguing that the Cowboys have so much more talent though and Eli did more with less. They said Cruz and Ballard (TE) would not have such good years with Romo...lol.

It was actually a refreshing exchange in NY.

Meh, Gonzo has more TDs and is a damn good player in his own right. I doubt you'll find many who'd say he isn't a complete TE so he deserves to go.
