Whatever your take on the value of the preseason, it's not very likely that the team itself is losing confidence after a weak showing against the Texans. If anything, they're bored and tired and looking forward to the games counting. I know I am.
The fact is the Cowboys had problems bogging down in the redzone and scoring TD's last season and the problem has carried over through 4 preseason games this year. That's a CONCERN! It's become a disturbing trend that the team can't seem to figure out. Teams are suppose to improve with each game during preseason as they become sharp and that's not happened with the Cowboys. The team has had 6 weeks of training camp and 4 preseason games to try and correct the situation and now the offense has gone from bad to worse from what we saw entering preseason last year. We haven't had anything that's even resembled a running game so far. What's even more concerning is we'll be entering the season with an unproven kicker who's only made chip shots this preseason and badly missed his only long FG attempt.
Preseason does have value or they wouldn't play the games. The Cowboys wouldn't be considering playing Dez and the rest of their starters for a series or two Thursday if there wasn't concern in the way the team has been playing. It's not just Texans game that's causing the team to lose confidence it's the way our starting offense has performed the ENTIRE preseason. Even our defense has been shredded the past 2 games after looking pretty good in the first 2 games. Our offense hasn't looked sharp once and the stats I've been posting that you keep shutting your eyes to prove it. If you think the Cowboys look ready to start the season and kick *** please send me a pair of the rose colored glasses you're wearing.
