Onside Kick Options/Replacements

Percentages are fine, it just seems WAY more likely to convert a 15 yard pass these days than an onside kick ever was.
That depends on the team, but I agree that a standard, oft practiced play (actually a variety of plays from which to choose) seems more likely to succeed, generally speaking.

You're right. For the 2019-2020 season, completion percentage for passes thrown 21-25 yards was ~45% on average.

That's pretty high and doesn't reward the winning team for getting themselves in that position to begin with, but it would certainly be exciting.

Except when it's against the 'boys. Teams should be forced to onside kick to us because we're America's Team, obv.
