I'm not sure if it has been posted anywhere and I don't have the NFL Network anymore, but has there been any news of the opening regular season game?

I was talking to a friend recently and I told him if everything is ready, the opening NFL season game for 2009 would be big time if it was in the new Dallas Cowboys stadium.

That would be totally awesome. Cowboys and Commanders on Thursday night in Arlington would be a killer way to start the season.

What do you guys n gals think?

The defending Super Bowl champion traditionally opens the season at home on Thursday night. So it will be the Steelers vs. somebody.

No announcement has been made, but I will set the initial odds at 2-1 that it will be against the Commanders. It'll probably also be the Sunday Night or MNF affair.

Cowboys will probably be the Sunday night game. Against the Giants, Commanders or Eagles is my guess.

Jerry is in tight with espn.

I am starting to wonder if the league doesnt give the game to ESPN to have a full day to promote it.

But If I had to put money on it, I would be with you, sunday night football national audience and the only game on. NBC loves the chargers and the cowboys so that wouldnt suprise me at all.

BUt a division game makes sense. NBC has had giants cowboys for two years in a row, at some point fox must get those two games back.

Although, if you think about it, it might be kind of interesting to open with The Ravens. Simply because it would be sort of neat to see the Boys play the their first game in the new stadium against the team that beat them as they closed down the old stadium.

we don't play them next season. we play the AFC West division.

That must be a recent tradition because the Jets opened at the Skins a few years ago.

Too bad we can't pick a game that would be an easy win like the Ravens..........wait.........nevermind.:
