This is the first year in many that I am giddy about the first game. No Garrett is a big reason, but just the overall experience of actual Cowboys football after no off-season games. Been a tough year for many,. Longhorns tonight, Cowboys tomorrow! Seems like just for a few hours, all is right in the world. Hopefully the air quality crap in LA will allow us to play. I'm right there with you, Rancho Buddy. 'Cept my sole reason is Garrett finally being gone. Garrett had me to the point I was hoping for losses just to smear that turd bags name. Between me and you, I can't think of anyone else who is more happy to see that son of a beeeotch finally gone.

Diehardblues will eventually come around, but he's still taking it hard..... the poor baby.

I won't disagree with you.... but I have to say this, when the dislike for (Garrett the coach, not Garrett the person) has reached levels where you no longer care about the results on the field, what are you left with? I hated wishing for losses - this is a team I have loved since the mid 1970's. But the Jerry and Garrett show had far exceeded its shelf life to the point I wanted Garrett gone so bad I was actually hoping for losses. Call me a loser of you want - I respect your devotion. But man, I was sooo happy when it was announced that Garrett was FINALLY gone. Maybe you don't understand how much of an uplifting, motivational point that was, but it was. And not just for me. I am finally looking forward to Cowboys football again.

I was happy as hell too when he was fired. Things were really hopeless as long as he was the coach. But I can’t ever, ever wish for a loss. It’s a steep cliff and once you do it once, you fall off and will slowly start to do it more and more.
