So Pollard tried to make a play I’ve seen the Seahawks(and others now)do multiple times. The kickoff is near the sidelines and the returner recovers it with one foot out of bounds making it a penalty on the kicking team and placing the ball at the 40. Why didn’t that happen for us?

Here’s the rule I’m talking about:

Because he batted the ball first. You’re not allowed to touch it, have it bounce, recatch it and step out. We know what he tried to do and it was very smart. Just did not execute it.

Watch how Montgomery does this. All in one motion.

Fair enough. Thanks for the explanation.

No problem.

The best way to look at it is, say the returner catches the ball on the sidelines and doesn’t like what he sees. He steps out and gets the penalty.

It was a smart / stupid play on Pollards part. Smart to know the rule of getting the penalty. Dumb that he touched it twice

Looked like it was going to bounce out of bounds. Instead he fielded it. Probably not even told or coached that if the ball goes out of bounds it's a penalty on the kicking team.

Complete brain cramp for Pollard. That will happen when your coaching staff sucks and there is no accountability.

Yeah, because you never see rookies make mistakes on well coached teams do you?

Quit crying every day in every thread. Especially after wins. It looks pathetic dude.

Man up!

I do think he was trying to do just that and didn't pull it off correctly.

That makes me feel better about it because it just looked dumb.

Had he stepped out of bounds and reached in to catch it, it would have given Dallas the ball at the 40.

I'm sure he knows the rule now.

Damn. I never knew that was a thing.

Thanks

Haha some don’t.

That’s why when people called Pollard a bonehead last night I tried to explain. We see what he WAS attempting to do lol
