You bring up an interesting point. The Cowboys play Tampa Bay in two weeks. If the Cowboys beat them, they will actually help the Giants and Skins in the playoff race. That's going to be a weird scenario.

My take on the matter is, as long as we keep winning games who it helps doesn't matter.

I don't think you can shoot up a groin and play. The muscle and tendon are trying to tear away from the bone to which it is attached.
