If Jerry doesn’t open up more cap space by the weekend Then it means same old Jerry nothing in free agency!

They don't have to free more cap space before negotiating deals with players.

They just have to do it before signing them.

Not to mention it would be smart for them to know how much cap space they need before they create it.

Doing it now would tell the agents how much they have to spend.

I still see them mostly spending on lower end to mid tier free agents but we'll see. I'm sure if the right deal comes about they'll restructure contracts and maybe they already have the frame work drawn up to do it. If they restructure deals now it doesn't mean they actually got a deal done and would kick money down the road for no reason.

The 2026 NFL legal tampering period begins on Monday

The 2026 NFL legal tampering period begins on Monday, March 9, at 12:00 p.m. ET. During this time, teams can contact and negotiate with agent

Nonsense. The Cowboys are cap compliant right now, as required. Teams only open what they need to with restructuring contracts, not all they possibly can. You can’t “unrestructure” player contracts. This is something the FO is doing right.

Good point thanks for bringing this up
