Not surprised rich people can bribe schools to get their kids in since it’s been happening for a very long time. I am surprised coaches can put in a good word for kids who don’t even play the sport they’re coaching. As a former recruited athlete this is going to suck for future kids. Now schools will have to not accept those recommendations or the kids will have to do extra to prove they’re actually going to play the sport in college.

Greed + desire for status = corruption.

Corruption + sloth by compliance entities = scandal.

Everyone knew this has gone on for eons...I think the depths these recent folks stopped to is prettty vile. That’s how tons of ivy leaguers have done it for a century, cronyism.
Without the cronyism protecting the “system” it all falls part and then the wealthy brats have to actually compete and work.
