How would you like to see a Front 7 lineup like this come opening day?

--LDE--------------- NT---------------- RDE
M.Spears --------J.Ferguson -------- C.Canty
J.Ratliff ------------Kemoeatu ---------P.Johnson

LOLB -----------LILB ---------RILB ---------ROLB
B.Carpenter------A.Brooks---- B.James ----D.Ware
S.Fujita ------S.Shanle -----K.Burnett ------K.Thornton

This is how (in my fantasy world :))
(everything has to fall in place for this to happen)

1.Brooks goes to the Supplemental draft. Teams will probably be looking to give up a 3rd` to get him.

2. We pick up a K / RT / NT / C in draft (your NT would be Kemoeatu- we have no backup for Ferg if we release Glover which I think we will.)

3. We cut Singleton and Ogbogu. We release or trade Glover.

4. If Carpenter is there at 18, we trade down a few spots *if we have a trade partner* and we pick up a 4.

5. We package our newly acquired 4 and Ellis to a team for their next years number 2. Or perhaps straigt up for a next years 2.

6. We draft Bobby Carpenter with our 1st pick. (along with other parts we need)

7. We will have 2 second rounders in next years draft - we offer one of those for Brooks in the Supp. Draft. A second should do it, especially if we get a high second.

In 2 to 3 years, this will be the best front 7 in the league.
Parcells will stay on Brooks' tail to quit the off the field issues, and if he succeeds, then we succeed. If he fails, then we move on.
It's not like we've been rolling out Stars in the second round consistantly in the last 10 years, but Brooks is a top 10 player when he's healthy and his head is right, and we would almost guarantee him for a 2.

Rolling out 6'3 255 Carpenter - 6'3 260 Brooks - 6'2 250 James - 6'4 255 Ware - 6'7 305 Canty (if he adds 10lbs) - 6'5 350 Kemoeatu - 6'4 295 Spears -

That to me is a big bad smashmouth unit that could make any FS look like a pro-bowler. Brooks and Carpenter are 2 big mean aggressive LB'rs and Parcells would unleash the Fury on teams. And if we pick up a ball-hawking FS like Anthony Smith (6 int's in 2005) or some other good ones in the Draft, or even in FA, we could have the best Defense in the league next season.
A combination of run stuffing/quarterback pressuring /pass defending defense.
That to me is a SuperBowl caliber Defense.

I like Carpenter and Kemo.

I have seen nothing from Brooks that makes me think he is worth a second round pick right now.

You have Ware and Carpenter reversed.

I'd love it by the way, but give me Fowler over Shanle.

I don't get the fascination with Ahmad Brooks.

He's got every single wart you don't want on a player.

Back, knee, weed, academics, weight issues, attitude, kicked off team.

Derek Ross, Blade, AB, QC, and Maurice Clarrett all rolled up into one.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but someone will invest a first on Brooks.

There are enough GM's out there willing to overlook off the field issues to draft a physical freak of nature (which he is).

Injuries are anoter story, but if he passes his physical, you can be certain he'll go mid to late 1st.

He's fast fast fast, big big big, and can play play play. All of those other things are going to be a gamble, but we gambled by not taking Randy Moss, and I think that cost us a Superbowl.

He can get healthy, and he can get his life back on par. But you can't find a guy with this size/speed/talent anywhere in the draft. The only one that is better to me is AJ Hawk, but he's a freak as well.

If you want to draft a bunch of saints, go ahead.. I'll take the talent, and go from there.

Then I would trade out of the 1st round to acquire a next years 1st and get him. He's that good in my book.

Thanks, I've seen him play at least 15 times and have half those games on DVD.

Parham and Carpenter have his size, speed and production.

Next fairytale?

I'll take talented guys with character all day every day.

Suprised you're not pounding the table and Claude Wroten and Dee Webb.

Actually, he has it right I believe.

Ware on the Weak side, Carpenter on the Strong.

I would not touch him with a ten foot pole. If he has no discipline his senior year when he will be drafted, then what can you possible base any assumption upon that he will develop into a dependable, solid, productive player. Whoever wants to spend a first pick on him let them have at it. In fact if it were left up to me they could get him much, much cheaper than that.

brooks had a lousy year at UVA and doesn't impress me...overrated and a very dangerous draft selection.

And rumors are Brooks was kicked off the team for drug issues.....if true, BP will stay far away from this kid.

True, but thankfully Jerry isn't one of them. Forget Brooks or anyone like him.

O.K. so he dominated Clemson's OL or some such--give it a break.

Let's cast aside proven NFL veterens like Leroi Glover,Al Singleton or Gregg Ellis for unproven college dominators like Ebeneezer Ekuban, Brady James, or for that matter Rashaan Salaam or Ron Dayne.

If only it were so easy. It's the same every year--how tiresome.
