Opinion: Cowboys should consider getting Jerry Porter

<Aug. 21> Although the Raiders are not actively shopping Porter, they are allowing the disgruntled wideout and his agent to seek a trade, according to Pro Football Weekly.
It's unknown what the Raiders want in compensation, but they have been presented several trade proposals and have nixed every one.
Unless the Raiders lower their asking price or a team that loses a front-line receiver feels compelled to up the ante, it appears Porter is stuck in Oakland for the next two seasons. Porter can opt out of the five-year contract extension he signed before last season after the 2007 season. Until then, he runs the risk of being kept on ice by the Raiders.

I pulled this from the ESPN rumor central, I just figure that this might be a wide receiver the Cowboys might be looking into cause like Jerry Jones said they're going to weigh their options.

I feel there is zero chance that Jerry Porter will ever wear a Cowboys' uniform. Zip - zero - zilch - nada. Think of it this way, Porter can't even get along with Art Shell who isn't half the disciplinarian that Parcells is. There's no way he could play for an even tougher coach.

Ron Curry, at one time, was considered the best athlete to go to UNC since Jordan. Highest ranked HS athlete in both football and basketball out of Virginia I believe. Somebody local to that area can probably confirm. Played QB while at UNC. Changed positions in the Pros and was starting to come around up until his injury. He has always been an interesting player to me.
