Might see Leary start next week and if he plays well again its his job rest of year.

Gosh, I hope not. Wasn't it turf toe that plagued Deion for a while when he was here? It slowed Tim Salmon for a whole season (MLB).

Type of injury that nags a player, especially if they rush back.

Glad we have Leary. He is probably more further along than Collins at this point due to his experience. We got to keep Dak up right and the blocking for Zeke

There is no point of playing Collings over Leary if he is hampered by an injury.

I actually like Leary better against these teams like the Giants who have 500 pounders in the middle.

Just like Romo is gonna play when he is ready, so will Collins. GM has an agenda.

I think Leary right now is a better guard then Collins, the reason IMO why Collins is starting is that there is not a huge difference and the boys so not want to pay Leary most likely because there are doubts about how long his carrier can be.

Turf toe is a nasty lingering injury for a player that makes his money running around. Be interesting to see if it's different for the big guys.

Turf toe is a sprain of the first metatarsal-phalangeal joint, caused by hyperextension (bending upwards too far) and possibly including cartilage damage.

The big toe is used more than most people think, with lots of force being applied even when walking. So running and cutting is out of the question until healing is complete. A walking boot is usually required for 2-4 weeks, but running too soon may extent the recovery by 1-2 months.

I have not heard the official diagnosis on Collins yet.

Is it an easier injury for offensive linemen to play with, then?

Thanks for the info!

I am surprised he does not have turf back after the one play he was knocked on his keester.

You are so right. I bet Collins doesn't run under a 4.3 forty ever again.

Let's just hope he gets back sooner rather than later (without the lingering issues like the aforementioned faced), we need him and that explosion he provides off the line!

Not to mention that sub 4.3 speed! :)
