what do you think? (we've been together 1 year, she's the one, I'm gonna ask her to marry me sometime in 2011, etc)

Yuck.

The necklace you've chosen is definitely pretty and she'll be happy with it, but I'd also recommend checking out a site like Etsy.com, which sells hand made jewelry (and other items) from individuals and small jewelry boutiques that are more custom and less generic. For how much you're spending, you could get her something she's almost guaranteed never to see hanging around someone elses neck.

Congratulations on your one year btw, I just got married in early October. So far, so good. ;)

I think she'll love it. Mostly because it is from you. Go with it.

I have one like it in yellow gold, and it's one of my favorite things my husband gave me. Another no vote on the open hearts one from me, too. I think it's hideous.

It doesn't symbolize anything but the ingenuity of companies when it comes to seperating you from your money. They advertise the thing the way Timex might advertise a watch. The story they tell about it is cute, but a pebble might symbolize as much (if not more) between you and a person you care for.

That's awesome, man...I'm sure she'll love it.

And do not get that Open Hearts design - looks like a snake doing the limbo.

My wife doesn't care for them at all. She specifically told me they would get returned.
