Opinions on M Rucker at TE? I thought he appeared quite athletic

appeared quite athletic. He made a nice grab in the 4th quarter running down the seam. Seems to have good speed and is a big target.

I know it's unlikely we will keep 4 TEs, but unless Gronk/Chapas are really excelling, maybe JG uses Phillips as a FB/H-Back type and keep Rucker on the roster?

And we could keep a FB on the PS as well just in case.

I remember reading that the Cowboys were intrigued by Rucker when he came out of college, and I'm glad they were able to bring him on board.

I'm not convinced that either Gronk/Chapas add a Moose-like dimension to our offense in any case.

One of the commentators was playing him up big time after his 2 point conversion catch, saying that he has a long history of making catches, but just hasn't gotten the opportunity in Dallas.

One thing I will say for the guy: he put in the hours at camp. He was one of the jugs crew after every practice.

I've got to think he's playing for a job on another team at this point. And that's fine.

I like Rucker, he's got some tools to work with. I believe he's a former 4th round pick by the Browns. I do remember him at Missouri being a very good receiver.

I just don't see where he fits with this team right now. It's cliche, but he's got to show up on special teams.

If I were Dallas, and can find a trading partner, I'd trade Bennett and keep Rucker on the 53 man roster.

Chapas has more ability and Gronk, it will be up to Chapas to be able to consistantly block and how fast he progresses in the next three weeks. I really think Dallas would like to replace Gronk

I'm not sure if Rucker is really the prototype that Dallas looks for at the position. Dallas wants it's TE to be good blocker and I don't think that is Ruckers game.
