Opinions on Ryan Pickett of GB as potential FA

I thought he played pretty well in GB's 34 defense, and I think he's 30 yrs old - which for a NT isn't too bad.

Also, as far as I can tell, he is unrestricted.

I know we're not going to spend much in FA, but I thought that Pickett could be relatively reasonable price wise as compared to guys like C Hampton, Wilfork, etc.

Only thing is, with so many 34 teams now, there are more teams bidding for guys like this. And I selfishly want us to draft a DL this year -- we haven't taken one at all in the last three years since Wade got here.

The positive thing about Pickett is that he's also used to playing in a rotation.

But you're right, with so many teams running 34 defenses now, Pickett could be a hot commodity. I'm hoping we do pick up a player like him, however.

And he won't cost us draft picks, either.

Now that you mention it, I could see Snyder offering him $100mm. He'll probably go nuts this year with no cap.
