Opinions on Shemar Stewart at 12?

Hard pass, production doesn’t match his testing numbers. At least Williams has had injury and came from a program that doesn’t showcase his position

Stewart is a beast. He had many near sacks. Stats aren’t everything. Admit that 12 is a little rich but provided the premium position not a bad selection - he could be a top 5 guy in this class easily.

First round pick needs to be a day 1 starter/impact player. Not a developmental player with a high ceiling. Especially at 12 and with all the holes we have.

Curious what holes do the Eagles need to fill?

i'd rather have georgia's mykel williams.
but i wouldn't hate it if its stewart.
kid is just getting started.
big up-side and a bright future.

Dane Brugler has him at no 9 overall but I just see it.no doubt he has a great burst but he has no clue on what to do after even if he beats the OT.

We don't have a talented enough team or roster to wait for the future. We need immediate impact players day 1.

I will take production over measurables all day long. If it does not translate to the field what is the point?
This is the way.

Hoping that someone who didn't produce in college will produce in the NFL is stupid.

All these measurables are great. But if you don't see it on the field? Why bother?

4.5 career sacks as an edge? No college production at all

near sacks don't mean squat.
The guy did not produce like a first rd pick should
the underwear olympics have destroyed many a foolish GM on guys just like this

Agree it is a risk, but if he had the production he’d be a top 5 pick. His tape shows crazy motor & traits, should translate in the NFL especially next to Micah. I understand fans could be sour on selecting Stewart because of Mazi’s “underwear potential” but Stewart’s film is much better & his motor is elite which I highly value on the DL.

Stewart would upgrade the defensive line and has the potential to be the best player in the draft. Physically if you measure Stewart to Carter it’s not even close. I would seriously consider him with our first pick. For those that complain about his 4.5 career sacks, college football defenses are much different then the NFL.

I'd prefer Landon Jackson in the 2nd because I think he was miscast in his role at Arkansas over Stewart at 12. Ideally if you could trade back acquire an additional 2nd draft Ebuka late 1st, Jackson in 2nd and a RB/CB with the other 2nd and 3rd round picks, it would go a long way in fixing the holes on this team.

So what's the deal with A&M? They had Shemar Stewart, Nic Scourton, Walter Nolan, and Shemar Thomas all on their defensive at one point. That is 4 top 100 prospects and 2 surefire 1st rounders maybe 3 ...I don't follow college football, were the Aggies a top team? With that defensive line they they should have had opposing offenses scared!
I think scourton joined them this year from the portal and Nolen left via the portal. IDK, a&m had tons of recruiting talent. Think these guys were all part of the highest ranked recruiting class all-time and they all fizzled.

They went berserk when NIL really got going and basically bought all these top recruits, and who knows what happened then. They couldn't actually afford them all, or guys got better offers, or they were coddled too much, whatever. NIL has caused all kinds of weirdness in college football, and not in a good way.

On Stewart, I wouldn’t like it, but he's the kind of boom / bust prospect our favorite old wildcatter loves to gamble on.

I don’t think he is. In the position series post on here what scouts actually think isn’t exactly ringing!
I'm just going by the Tankathon big board. They have him ranked 13th overall.
