I'm just curious about something. Why don't we play/scheme every game the way we did the Colts?

Now hear me out. I was on here before the Colts game thinking we're gonna have to score a lot of points to keep up w/Manning and Co. Our first game w/out Ellis and I'm thinking Peyton is gonna lite us up w/no pass rush. I'm just hoping the offense would get enough rolling to stay up and low and behold we hold them to 14 points and score 21. I guess I was really lulled in to believing we were going to be a different team after that game.

So any way I'm not the football genius a lot are on this board, but why would we not play/scheme that way for all the rest of the games. Now I realize different teams have different issues to deal with so you can't do the exact same thing.

What I'm saying is our "weak secondary and no pass rush" holds Peyton and Co. to 14 points. How, by disquising blitzes and moving in and out different LBers.

And a speedy D-Line that is giving our O-Line fits in the first half we make adjustments to and start having Romo do one-step drops and quick slants to get the ball out.

So to my question since I'm not the guru of many here. No sarcasm intended. Could we not be playing this kind of ball and making these kind of adjustments to get the wins?

We didn't blitz much against the Colts. We did do a lot of showing the blitz and then dropping into coverage. I have no idea why we don't do that more. I have no idea why we don't stunt more. We could do both and mix up the rush. That is, after all, one of major benefits of the 3-4 defense.

I do know why we don't/can't blitz up the middle -- Bradie James.

But do you get my post? Why wouldn't we scheme more this way w/it working against the at that time unbeatable Colts?

No one knows. Everyone is begging for us to do it. Parcells just doesn't like to. Unless he has some strange change of heart, I wouldn't expect it anytime soon, and yes that is about as frustrating as it gets.

So who was the masked man/asst/head coach calling that Colts game?
Who knows. It's a very interesting situation. I remember around that time that the players themselves began calling for some creativity. We'll never know, but like I said, I wouldn't expect it until Parcells is gone.

Perhaps what worked against the Colts simply has not worked against the other teams we've played lately? Being somewhat of a finesse team, the Colts traditionally struggle against 3-4 Defenses. These other teams have simply out-muscled us off the line of scrimmage lately.

You can't scheme every team the exact same way. I'm more pissed off that Parcells has not made halftime adjustments this year. We just keep believing if we play our game we'll figure it out.

One thing we did great in that game was run the ball and control the clock. We tried that last night and couldn't run against the #31 ranked run defense.

The thing I wish is that this team would attack. We don't attack, we react. I have never liked that. I never will.

We did this last night, but what we did not do was get past their OL. They did a very good job. They were more prepared than we were. I honestly think their OL was the difference in the game.

We also never really had to play from behind. There are different pressures involved in playing from behind as opposed to protecting a lead.

I personally do believe this team should be capable of making adjustments, but perhaps I'm wrong.

We don't run stunts. Why? Because Parcells feels they are too tough to teach.

We rarely use screens (and we don't defend them either). Why? Parcells has never had success with them.

We don't blitz much and when we do we run right at the blockers and try and push them backwards? Why? Judas Priest I wish I knew.

It is a poorly coached team. That is just the absolute truth.
