.............Yes I am, thing is, Gregg Ellis is NO Julius Peppers. In fact not even CLOSE. Bad example. Peppers is much bigger, stronger, with WAYYYYYYYYY more explosion. Like I said, we play a ONE GAP, there is a big difference.

Won't work, he'll get double teamed and taken out of the play..

He's overrated. Awesome physical specimen that could be one of the best in the game if he wanted to be. But in big games and certain seasons, he completely disappears. He got the big money and has been wildly inconsistent since..........

He hasn't been the same since he was popped for roids a few years ago.

Good point yeager....I forgot all about that. He just doesn't go all out every play: just ask a panther fan: ESPECIALLy after yesterday's game. Don't want him..........

Julius Peppers at OLB? No way... The guy is a natural 4-3 DE, he'll land somewhere that runs a 4-3.

Hes a guy that has more than enough athletic ability to play OLB.

He already drops into zones a lot from his DE position.

...............WHAT, inconsistant???....LOL Lets just look at his sack numbers alone. Ill start with his rookie year and move forward........12 sacks, 7 sacks, 11 sacks, 10.5 sacks, 13 sacks, then 2.5 sacks last year "dont know what was up with that, maybe a lingering injury?" then another 14.5 sacks THIS year. I would argue that his numbers show the exact opposite of your claim that he is inconsistant. In fact I'd take THAT KIND of inconsistant all day long...Double digit sacks 5 times out of a 7 year career isnt consistant? Ummm, o.k.:)

............Gosh I SURE HOPE SO!!! Thats umm, part of what I think could be accomplished. You see if HE is double teamed, that means that Ware, playing on that same right side, could not be. Or Vice versa.

All I know is this, if you go back and read my plan earlier in the thread,....if you can put Peppers, Ratliff, Spencer, Scott, and Ware all together on the field at the same time in a quick penetrating ONE GAP 3-4 defense........the offense they are facing is in HUGE TROUBLE.

if there was no cap next season.....we could go after Peppers and Haynesworth, as well as keep Canty.

OLB - Ware, Peppers
DE - Ratliff, Canty
DT - Haynesworth
ILB - James, ?

But there is a cap. Im just wondering if dumping Roy Williams, Greg Ellis, Thomas, and not resigning Canty would allow us the space to sign Peppers, Scott and Leonard and also resign Ware longterm. I in fact think it is more than possible.

Jim Leonard, Safety, Baltimore. Small in stature, heart of a lion, hits like a mack truck and can jump thru the roof, nice return man too. SMART, good football IQ. He was the guy yesterday who was constantly teaming up with Bart Scott to bring down Tennesee ball carriers. Was really neat to see how they played in tandem with each other. Almost like they were joined at the hip.

Balt safety it's spelled Leonhard or something like that

Ok, I was kind of thinking that is who he meant, but I wanted to make sure....cause I was trying to think of a Leonard in this league.......and the only one I could think of already plays RG for us.

Leonhard looks like a nice player, btw. I also like Atogwe from the Rams.

Or he might get shoved into Ware with a bowling ball effect. I don't see it...
