This must be some kind of a record. I can't even remember the last time one of our opponents missed a meaningful kick against us. It seems like someone sets a career long every time we play. Does anyone have the numbers on this?

Cowboys vs Seattle Fg block was very meaningful only to have Red go ultra conservative that we ended up losing the game.

Almost laughable to hear arguments like this or, "kickers never miss against Dallas", when Dallas has the most accurate kicker in history on it's team.

True.

But most of his kicks come because we haven't scored touchdowns and cannot move the ball.

Though he is clutch when needed

Wait, how is this connected? We are talking about kickers not missing against us, and you chime in about Bailey?

I'm not seeing how it's related. Does Bailey somehow make the opponents kickers more accurate? Where are you going with this?

A meaningful kick? You mean, like the potential game-winner that the Saints' kicker missed at the end of regulation?

Ok so we've had 2 field goals missed against us all year. I mean geez the eagle kicker is a 46% kicker beyond 50 yds in his career and of course he drilled it against us

I know it sounds crazy but it does seem like teams play perfect against us. Never a interception or a fumble. Never a missed kick. Backup offensive linemen play out of their mind.

How's it not connected?

Either kicking is generally is a pretty damn safe bet, or it's largely a product of good fortune. This very thread suggests that the conversion percentage against Dallas is abnormal in some manner and yet the conversion percentage for Dallas is undoubtedly abnormal.

Thus, if kicking is a safe bet then there should be no shock. On the other hand, if it's all just good fortune there's absolutely no reason why anyone should say Dallas is less fortunate than other teams when they themselves have the most accurate kicker.

There was a stretch of a couple years during the Parcells era when kickers hit an absurd % of their FGs against us. Something like only 1 miss over a 2-year span. But I'm not aware of anything like that in recent years.
