Options at slot corner

Move Calen Carson to slot. See if Pride Jr. can play slot. There guys in FA, but check in house first.

Kendall Fuller has played 2400 snaps at slot corner in his career, him or Darnay Holmes would be good stop gap options until they draft a slot corner. They should be cheap one year deals. They would then fall to back up duties if the draft pick turns out to be better than them.

I know he is hurt (and so is Diggs) but I was impressed with Butler last year for a young inexperienced guy throw into the middle of it. With all 3 healthy it would be interesting what they would do. I also wouldn't rule out the Michigan Corner at #12 and then cut Diggs next year and use his money on Bland.
You’re right. Super Bowl!

I could be wrong, as I often am, but I feel like we're done at corner in free agency. We had to replace Lewis and needed a starting corner with Diggs out indefinitely.

I think Elam is our third corner and temporary starter, and we resigned Mukuamu to give us a temporary slot corner option while Diggs is out.

So basically:

While Diggs is out:
CB Bland
CB Elam
NCB Mukuamu (I could see Butler contending here as well after a good showing last season)

Then, when Diggs is back:
CB Diggs
CB Bland/Elam
NCB Bland

Unless we plan to move on from Diggs, I don't see CB being the top priority in the draft because we have our starters. I won't be surprised by a CB pick early, though, because we don't know how long Diggs will be out and we don't know how Elam will perform.

We can view it, though, that we've already drafted a CB this year because of the trade (same with LB) and may have them lower on our priority list because of it.
They are stable...we don't have a dominant group here in a strength group needed to win in today's game. There is talent not dominant as the previous four years.

The big reason people believe Dallas may have struck lightning in a bottle with Elam is scheme; he was in the wrong scheme with the Bills, but the Dallas system will play to his strengths. Elam struggled in the mostly zone scheme he lined up in for Buffalo. Yet Dallas plays mostly man, which fits his physical style.

Prior to the 2022 NFL Draft, my scouting report on Elam reflected exactly this sentiment, as I mentioned that Elam had a physical style, engaging opponents at the line of scrimmage and staying step for step with receivers all over the field. I talked about the explosion, suddenness and aggression Elam played with, and his polished ball skills.

Unfortunately for the 2022 first-round pick and the team that drafted him, none of these skills translated to the NFL system he was thrown into. Elam now has a second life in the NFL, and many expect that the change of scenery, and new system, will do him well.

This is the chosen direction Dallas has given support towards. Still with a strong Scouting group.

I want Samuel. But the team might think Carson can compete with Elam for that position.
