Order of needs

First off, everyone agrees with best player available but for the purposes of this thread I want to know what would disappoint you most?

Im zeroing in on the first three rounds of the draft. Obviously good players can be had after the first three rounds but i consider rounds 1-3 premium picks.

I think 90% of Cowboys fans would list the below positions as being top priority in no particular order

Interior o-line-Obvious reasons
TE -2nd te need
S - Pretty obvious
CB -Jenkins durability/contract year
Dline - Move rat to de? Draft nose or just draft a de
OLB - Need pass rush desperate/Spencers future

So depending on which camp you fall in and where you rate these in order of importance, alot of fans will come away disappointed after round 3 of the draft ends.

I think they go either DL Cox or OLB Mercilus round one. I then think they go OL round two and TE round 3.

Then I will complain about not getting a CB and S high enough in the draft. Cant fill every need.

I don't think Rat will move to DE. He may play some snaps there, but not a complete move.

If it were up to me I would go OLB and OG/OC in rounds 1 and 2. CB in round 3 and WE/ TE in round 4. Rounds 5-7 would be used to fill roster spots.

Obviously you can't go into the draft with a concrete plan like that, but if the draft ended up like that I'd be very happy.

I think our defensive line is better than most here give credit. We do need more QB pressure, but I believe corner not getting exposed by play action and short drops would help. A safety that can and will cover is the biggest defensive need. Allow CB's to man up with help. Pressure from Dline follows.

I second this. I hope that we can fill this with a Jason Witten type success in the 2nd round or later.

However, if we are truly free to draft BPA and not need, Pro-Bowlers all over the rest of the defense would lessen the urgency of this need.

I would be happy with BPA at any of these positions in any particular order but to go with the theme of the thread I listed them how I deem them important....

1) C or NT
2) NT or C
3) Guard (Since we have two vets this spot can switch with the 4rth rounders as well.)

*Wild card* (*These two can flip order *)

4) *CB w/return skills (In case we are parting ways with Jenkins next year.)
4-Comp) *OLB (In case we are parting ways with Spencer next year.)

*Or just to save money, churn the roster, or what have you.*


These last three can flip in any order, my we have some needs
