ran a 4.69, but had a 4.10 short-shuttle and 6.75 3-cone, good numbers the last 2, a 35" vertical and 15 reps on the bench

not a pure speed guy, but he's quick and smart

A corner running a 4.69? Was the track surface quicksand?

Yeah, that's going to hurt him.

He looks more quick than fast, but he does go after the rock when it's in the air.

Plus he's a solid put returner.

Couldn't find better vids ?

what's a put returneR?

I wouldn't mind drafting him at all. Most mocks I've seen have him going mid-late 2nd Round. Some people think he could be had in a lower round.

If he falls to the 3rd, he is good value, IMO.

I think he fits the bill at CB/FS tweener who the Cowboys seem to want to add to the team.

Wow, he's faster than that on the field. I liked him in the 2nd as a CB/FS pick but now we should be able to get him with the Detroit 4th rounder and put him at FS.

It'd be nice to get some DB's who are adept at zone coverage if Wade is gonna keep calling the damn things.

How does he compare to a guy like Brandon Flowers? Flowers did run a 4.55 though, so a bit faster, but he was a 2nd round prospect in a good CB draft last year. Is Byrd then justified as a 2nd round prospect in a weak CB draft this year?

The other thing is that Byrd was recovering from a (hamstring?) leg injury and couldn't run at their Pro Day earlier on.

I'm wondering if he was fully recovered? I think most estimate his time to be around 4.53-.55 area.

We all know of Byrd as DJax's beeeatch! Every year he was given that assignment and he would get worked over. It would have been worse the first year, but our backs racked up like 300 yards against the Ducks. The next year they did everything to stop the run and DJAX just shredded the whole secondary. It got so bad that they had to switch to Thurmond and Desean used that guy even more.

Jerrah... *** were you thinking taking Mike Jenkins over DJax?

He will be there in r4.

The guy just ran too slow of a 40 to be drafted higher.

And he looked bad all off-season in workouts.

Those are Roy Williams 38 speed numbers.
