Oregon man recovers stolen bike after sting operation

You really like this downward comparison, don't ya.

I've seen ya drop it a couple times now.

The same countries that cut off hands for theft, stone you for adultery. Is that the kind of justice system you want?

I would like to think we are more civilized than relying on old "tooth for a tooth" "eye for an eye" kind of justice.

Hell even China doesn't do that anymore.

I'd have to side with our Canadian friend here. I don't think it's wise to allow bits and pieces of troglodyte behavior to creep in to our way of life. God forbid it works it'll serve as a wonderful segue to more bad influence.

Ummmm......no.

I never said I would welcome such a system.

I just pointed out that I've seen you use that example before which is kind of odd considering there are likely more extreme examples of ridiculous punishment if extreme is what you are going for.

Nice to see Fox News reading Reddit and reporting this story.

Here's the video he made, which he originally posted there a couple days ago.

I don't think he has a car, besides, nothing wrong with going on a date on a bike.

Adultery is not a crime. It's a sin, but not against the law. So we don't punish that. Usually the consequences of adultery is enough punishment.

We are more civilized than stoning I'm sure, .. but cut a few hands off and stone a few thieves and voila, crime rate goes down.

:laugh2:

I hate nothing worse than thieves, aside from the obvious offenders. Someone stole from me rather recently. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do to retaliate, but I will find something "reasonable". ;)

In many cases taking the law into your own hands is illegal. What is it that would make your crime more acceptable to you than your perpetrators crime against you?

Fair enough answer.

1001 reasons why people commit crimes.

Reason #43... :D
  • Someone else commited a crime against them
