Oregon's Jordan Burch?

He was a transfer to Oregon but man he was good on the edge for them. They have another 1st rounder on the other side that’ll come out next year but team him with Micah and I think that’s nice. Unsure how he is in run defense though

From what I can see, Burch is a rounded player who can play the run and pass. Good athlete. Can play some 3-tech too.

I grabbed him in my first mock. Really like the limited film on him. The only knock? He's a little old.

Cowboys need to trade that #12 pick down into the early 20s while picking up an extra late 2nd round pick.

Use that traded down early 20s (1st round) pick to draft DT Derrick Harmon. Use the 44th (2nd round) pick to draft DE Jordan Burch. Use that late 2nd round pick on any of a bevy of RBs who should be available at that time (I personally prefer either Bhayshul Tuten or Jaydon Blue). Use the 76th (3rd round) pick to draft WR Dont'e Thornton Jr.. After that, use the rest of the later picks to address Safety, Oline, QB, etc.

Problem solved. Cowboys would be set for years to come.

Both are strong side end at the next level.
Burch at 44 would be a steal.
Williams at 22 would be a horrible allocation of draft assets.
I just see can’t any logical reason to consider taking a strong side DE at 12.
Wouldn’t consider it before 20 and they’d probably have to have shown more than what Williams did in college.

Would you prefer:
DE Mykel Williams at 12
OR
DE Jordan Burch at 44
OK, so I haven't done nearly as much homework on players this year as other years. I will say this, though. I really like Williams as a player, especially with Parsons. But I like the idea of drafting McMillan in the first and then adding Burch in the second, if he's even there.

That might be because I haven't had the time to analyze players' film as much as I want, so I don't much about my options. At least yet.

That said, I'd be happiest with DT, DE or WR in the first. That's the thing though. I've only begun scratching the surface on my annual arm-chair scouting of this year's draft class. Personally I want a WR because I think that opens up the running game, takes pressure off Dak and helps the new HC quite a bit.

Funny thing is I actually trust them to get this part right. They're still good at the draft. But I think maybe they focus on it too much and neglect other areas of managing the team.

The sad thing is even if they succeed to some degree, it very likely won't matter because our schedule is flat out brutal.

Answer: Jordan Burch

Jordan Burch put up better numbers.

Compared to Mykel Williams.

They both are similar size and speed off the edge.

Yes, the Cowboys could take Mykel Williams if he falls to them at the 12th pick, but they could also trade down into the early 20s while picking up an extra 2nd round pick, use that early 20s pick on big DT Derrick Harmon and still take DE Jordan Burch at 44 in the 2nd.

Too many holes to fill. Probably best to get 2 big players for the price of 1.

Tet McMillan would be available by the time the Cowboys pick at #12. Cowboys should go after WR Dont'e Thornton Jr with their 3rd round pick.

I like this strategy bring the Ducks to Dallas.
What's interesting is how both Jordan Burch and Derrick Harmon played at other colleges previously, yet improved on their performance as they switched colleges. This shows they can improve/get better with better coaching and as they gain more experience.

Cowboys did show interest in him at the combine.
