It seems as though when the Cowboys win this board is overly elated and optimistic and when we lose, the posts are overly pessimistic. That is to be expected. The Cowboys organization does not have that luxury. They should evaluate the Cowboys' organization, including their roster, and make sound decisions.

Change is not always a good thing. Teams that have stability seem to perform better, year in and year out than teams that are constantly in a state of change. Most people who look at the Cowboys would say that this Cowboys' team has a lot more overall talent than it had before Parcells arrived. I do not know how much Parcells had to do with that, but it is in my opinion, objectively better.

I am not sure whether Parcells should stay, or go, (I have generally been in favor of Parcells staying) but change in this area should be made as a last resort. I have a couple of reasons for saying this. First, great coaches do not grow on trees. Second, the new coach would be faced with trying to evaluate what his players can do. Third, it would likely cause a change in philosophy which tend to cause digression by the players in a new scheme. For example, some might say Barry Switzer was a bad coach (for the Cowboys), but give the man credit for letting his great players play and not trying to make them adapt to a new system.

I would like to see us get a replacement for T.O. but that is easier said than done. I think we should replace him if a suitable replacement is available, but I am not sure that can be done.

I think that we must stay in the 3-4 defense because we have drafted the players to fit that system. I do not know who is dictating how the defense plays, but, we do not get near enough pressure on the QB for the financial resources and draft picks we have spent on defense. Whatever the reason, that has to change. Maybe it is Zimmer. Maybe it is not Zimmer and Parcells needs to let him coach. Whatever it takes, we need to be dominant on defense. I am not opposed to using a high draft pick, or using some free agent money here, but unless we have been sold a bunch of magic beans, this defense should be starting to dominate games.

I am not sure we need to replace Parcells, Zimmer, T.O. or name your other favorite bandwagon here. We are better. We are solid. Maybe we just need to tweak things a little bit to get over the hump. Or just maybe we will catch lightening in a bottle and make our run to glory this year. As long as we are in the playoffs we have a shot.

Good sound reasoning and the biggest thing is something needs to change. If they continue down the path of not changing anything I think they need to be let go.
