I saw the interview. I actually thought Scandrick did really well. He was very articulate. Based on his eyes, he looked a little scared, but I doubt that because he spoke so well and didn't seem caught off guard at all.
As far as him leaning back in the chair, I have a theory. I know Stephen A. is taller than Scandrick. Max and the lovely moderator might be too. He may have leaned back to minimize the fact that he was shorter than the others.
I recall D'Angelo Hall didn't want to interview with female reporters taller than he, or he had to stand on something to make it appear he was as tall or taller than they were.
