I'm going to go on record here and say that Scandrick has a shot to be a VERY GOOD player in this league. He has flashed several times already in spot duty and his athletic ability is OUTSTANDING. I have seen a rookie CB that:

a) is not afraid of run support and can flat out hit
b) shows terrific speed in coverage
c) may have Ed Reed type special teams ability- he was all over that fg attempt... BARELY missed it...
d) has picked up his teammates (anyone seen him pat Alan Ball's helmet after his illegal contact call?)

Anthony Henry's days are numbered as a starter in Dallas and it might be Orlando that unseats him before Pac or Jenks (who is has also flashed some talent too) do. His play style is very similar to Nate Clements and he is more physical.

If he listens to Campo he can be a good one. Maybe not TNew good in coverage, but better big play ability cuz we all know 41 leaves alot of opportunity for INT's on the table.

I hope Scandrick becomes big time playmaker for Dallas

Scandrick has made more of an impact than Jenkins so far.

Even though Jenkins has been solid.

The only thing I'm worried about this year is our kick coverage teams. I'm not worried about our return game because we always have Newman and Austin.

But we need a guy on defense that can make that hit on special teams.

Who is it this year?

I didn't quite get that either.

Henry will be the starter, and if not him then Adam Jones.

Scandrick probably needs a year of seasoning before he even threatens to break into the nickel package.

I like Scandrick, I just can't see him being moved ahead of Adams Jones and Jenkins any time soon.

I want to agree with you guys but he is just so freakin good.

Odds are definetely in Pacs favor to be the starter but I wouldnt be surprised if Scandrick gets in earlier with the 1st unit and the coaches see what he can do with the big boys.

He looks like he will be a future starter in this league.

Pac looked very good in coverage Sat night. He will be in on the nickel I think except for the fact that I don't know why they postioned him behind Henry. They should have positioned him behind Newman because they like to put Newman in the slot in 3 WR sets.

Unless they are really just planning on him taking Henry's spot sooner than later. Otherwise they have Jenkins behind Newman when Newman goes into the slot.

Interesting decision if you ask me - hard to figure that one out.

Scandrick won't get much time in the secondary this year but he will get a block or two on special teams.

Are we sure that was him on the missed FG. I could not see from the angle they showed on NFL net.

i think he's going to end up being a good player that doesn't get on the field, then blossoms with another team when his rookie contract is done.

with newman, pacman and jenkins he'll hardly get on the field except for injuries.

Right now he looks to be a better CB than Jenkins. And while I don't believe he actually is better, he's playing better than Adam Jones is. That won't last much longer but this kid looks like a player. They are going to have a hard time keeping him off the field.

I want to agree with you and mmohican29. But honestly, with my lack of tv coverage up here in PA during preseason, I have not really seen Scandrick's ability on the field. I am hoping to catch most of the Texan's and Cowboy's game this Friday night in hopes of seeing what you guys are seeing.

I want to be a believer. So any juicy material regarding this guy that you can throw out is much appreciated.

The most underated thing about Scandrick is his Athleticism.

He has round 1 athleticism. People were just concerned about his ability to cover people in this league and some character concerns.

As far as im concerned if he can cover with his athletic ability then you have a future starter.

Its real early but he could be a bigtime baller.

He could be a Terrence Newman Jr.

It doesn't really matter who it is.

If he is wearing the star, then I hope hope he turns into a superstar.

Seeing Adam, Mike and Orlando make positive contributions will be sweet this season.

Wish all of them the best (to include Oglesby, Ball, and Henry).

Me either

and while the initial reviews are nice, he still hasnt played any meaningful snaps against players on other teams who will actually be on the field in a couple of weeks

I think his main contribution for a yr or two is gonna be special teams...Newman is signed long term...Jones (assuming no other issues) is signed long term...Jenkins is signed long term...Scandrick is not better than any of those 3

would have to strongly disagree with pretty much all of that

I disagree as well. He may be a better athlete and better special teams ace, but he is not where he needs to be as a corner and does not have the coverage ability of Jenkins. I like Scandrick's hustle though.
