OS - I want this guy

The only thing is..... when we go to 2 TE sets, we have no FB on the field.

When we go 3 WR (and Witten), we have no FB.

Do we really want to spend a 3rd rounder on someone who might be playing a position we may be fading out?
Schmitt has lined up at TE for WVU. So he can run. He can definitely block. He can catch passes. He can line up at multiple positions, and let's not forget inside the 5 and short yardage a FB is still a precious commodity. Even in today's NFL.

I absolutely would grab him in the 3rd. The entire offense benefits. He'd bring as much attitude as Barber and if Barber followed this guy into the hole or on a sweep he is going to be even harder to handle.

Can't see us taking a fullback.

IIRC, I read that he had more starts a tailback than at FB. If that is the case, then maybe he could play both positions. Use him as a H Back ala Cooley (without the gayness) and he is too versatile to pass up.
