Blocker for MB3
Short yardage, goal line FB
Great speed for his size
Special teams
Brings a great attitude

When the jelly jar of mountain dew comes your way, just say no.:)

Re the draft and this "bruiser" (aren't they all?), if this guy is so good he won't last long in the early rounds.
However, in IMHO, fullback is not even in the top 5 of needs right now.

I wonder if he can be a long snapper............

I want him as our lead FB, a solid ST player, a backup punter............but it would also be great if he could longsnap........this way we can get rid of LP and give that roster spot to a more versatile player.
I have no interest whatsoever in getting rid of JP Ladoucer at this point. Having a backup plan if he gets hurt is fine, but I'd rather keep him around. He's no Dale Hellestrae, but he's not bad either.

I really think a FB would be a wasted pick anywhere before the 4th round.

Could we put him in the backfield with Hoyt and put Free and McQuistin in motion to block for MBIII thru the hole? Eeeeww! That's just a godawful ugly picture. I'd love to see it tho.

normally I'd agree with that. but if the guy can play football, then I'm all for it. a good player is a good player.

just imagine the backfield of marion barber and owen schmitt

I'd like to draft him to replace Hoyte.

What round draft pick would it take to get him?

My favorite draft blog says round 4. I would like the pick. A FB that can run and catch as well as block? Sound like a Moose to me!

And forget about the haircut. He will lose that at TC.

In the Fiesta Bowl, when he broke his 57 yard TD run, the announcer said, .. "he looks like a runaway beer truck, and the brakes are busted," .. :laugh2:

He is very fast for his size.
In highlight films of him in HS and his small College he attended, nobody ever caught him from behind.
But at the D1 level they caught him after 40+ yds a few times.

They catch MBIII all the time. Sometimes, they wished they hadn't, but they do catch him.

Wait...what's wrong with Anderson? He was doing quite well as a lead blocker for us, and adding the ability to be a reciever out of the backfield, along with being a very good special teams player for us before he got injuried in the first Philly game.

Why is everyone so quick to want to get rid of him? We just spent a draft pick on Anderson last year and he showed, before getting injured, he was worth it.

No need to boot him out the door already.

The only thing is..... when we go to 2 TE sets, we have no FB on the field.

When we go 3 WR (and Witten), we have no FB.

Do we really want to spend a 3rd rounder on someone who might be playing a position we may be fading out?

Watch him play. He's easily a better TE than half the guys coming out this year...a prototypical + h-back. He's far too versatile to ignore past the third round. If he gets to the fourth, you move up to get him, IMO.
