Signed by Cowboys Osa re-signs

Sickening.
12th highest salary in league for st’s his pressurate 4th best does his runstopping need work? Yep he has room to grow but maxi is not great either. Put a good 1t next to him and see what happens. Eberflus knows what he is doing.

I would of gone in another direction, but he is an ascending player that never misses any starts. His frame tends to ware down, but it is up to the team to find him a quality backup so he doesn't have to see all the snaps. Usually, there is a big learning curve from the college to the pro level and now we don't have to wait and see. 20 million seems high, but that is what the current market dicates. Team cannot go into this offseason thinking the DT position is filled, they still need to add legitimate talent, especially stopping the run.

Seems like a reasonable contract. 53 is all that matters. They should still draft at least another DT.

so we can cut him after 2 years if he sucks,my problem with him is he goes games without making any impact on the field.hopefully we will still draft a 3T in the draft if a chance presents itself.

The same player would be fine. It’s not just sacks but his overall pass rushing is pretty good for a DT. Not I’d draft a guy in first 2 rounds who’s better against run. I’ve kinda given up on mazi. He has all the tools so it’s not about ability with him. He’s slow off the snap and just doesn’t play up to his physical ability. Maybe the light comes on but I’d be shocked
Osa is a top 5 DT in QB pressures and hits. He is young and durable......I never had a problem with returning as long as we pair him with a solid run plugger/NT. No, Mazi ain't it .......lol

Funny that 86 million is reasonable these days. My buddy at work showed me an old article on how the NBA owners were furious with the Sixers giving Moses Malone 2 million a year coming off an MVP season. Man times have changed.

No offense, but you and I must be watching different games.

And I have no doubt he could have gotten something similar, or possibly more elsewhere. But just because some other team with a ton of cap space might be willing to vastly overspend doesn't mean the Cowboys have to. I mean, if another player with identical stats from another team had been signed, we'd be (rightly) wondering what the front office was smoking. (Yes, I know we wonder that anyway, but...)
I don't know that it would be a case of another team vastly overpaying. You can kind of deduce that in hindsight after a deal is struck, but this is a projection of what his value *should* be. Kind of diferent. And as far as watching different games, you haven't seen Osa being disruptive? I have over the years, and was pleasantly surprised when I realized the analytics community supported what I believed and liked him even more than me.

Lol. I remember Ricky Henderson getting a 3year $9Mil contract and thinking it was insane. What would he make today? A billion? Its nuts.

Chances are we will see the same impact of QB pressure and hits ( he's top 5 in both ) but keep in mind these stats won't flash on your TV screen. In other words, if posters are now expecting to see more sacks from him, they will be disappointed coz that is not him.

I literally spit out my coffee when I saw this !!! Hilarious !!!

What evidence do you have to the contrary of my claim to disprove it? That is what I thought.
So if no one can disprove what you think, you think it makes it valid.

That is some middle ages reasoning.

You made a claim and no one has any reason to take you just on your word. Generally speaking, if you want people to be convinced of what you claim, entitlement is not the answer.
