Who knows with that legal system, but he sure as hell seems guilty to me.

You mean when you think someone broke in your house you don't go and shoot into your locked bathroom with no idea where your girlfriend is?

It's South Africa. Their forensics and prosecutorial system aren't exactly world-renowned. Wouldn't be surprised if he were acquitted on some absurd technicality.

Oh, I don't doubt he might be able to buy himself out of it. The news about a week or two ago said that his lawyers were negotiating a settlement with her parents.

It may say that they don't trust the system and know there is a chance he might go free. Any settlement they reach also probably won't impact his criminal trial. It is two separate things. Just like O.J.'s criminal case and his civil case were separate issues.

Their system may not be the same as ours. There are many countries where the prosecution, even in criminal trials, represents the victim and not the State.

If it's inquisitive then it's really different from ours.

According to what I read the potential settlement is a separate deal. They would likely have to sign a non-disclosure agreement, so he would not be admitting any fault and the settlement could not be used in the criminal case. Apparently, she was supporting her parents through her modeling career and they now have no income. If there is no non-disclosure agreement then the prosecution can use the settlement in the case.

I also think he did it, but I do not think he did it premeditated. I think they got in a fight, and he snapped. It happens, unfortunately.

Pathologist Gert Saayman told the court that Reeva Steenkamp was shot three times, in the head, hip and arm.

The judge had earlier banned live broadcast of the post-mortem examination testimony.

The Paralympic athlete, on trial for murder, denies intentionally killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

Mr Pistorius' body jerked and he retched as he heard the pathologist's evidence, reports the BBC's Pumza Fihlani at the court in Pretoria.

A bucket was placed next to Mr Pistorius, who broke down in tears on several occasions, leading the judge to briefly halt proceedings.
