Some people - not me - would say Mike Vick has "succeeded".

Duh, nevermind. Vick didn't win a heisman.

Brain fart.

well, they should not have even bothered waiting to give it to him this year.

I think he will make a solid pro QB.

Congratulations to him by all means but quick name the last Heisman winning quarterback not from USC (Palmer and Leinhart) to succeed in the NFL?

It would have to be Vinny.

Sounds like the typical Heisman politics. Freshman, Soph or whatever, if you're the best then it shouldn't matter.

Well, I am a SEC guy, but if you have to be honest. If you checked out any Ohio State games this year, Smith was increadible, and deserved to win the Heisman. Did McFadden have a great year, absolutely, but fact is that the best player is playing QB on the best team that is undefeated and playing for the national championship. No way this could, or should go to anyone else.

Lead a legitamite contender, I was being very generous with Mr. Leinhart on account of his rookiedom. The Bengals are a legitimate contender if not for half of their lineup being in the Ohio St. Pen.

So I guess I mean living up to the enormous expectations of being a franchise QB which means he has made his team a contender or is not the reason his team is no longer a contender because he plays well.

Only Palmer comes to mind.

And it took him the better part of a decade to get it together. Only two playoff appearances in 20 year span if i'm not mistaken.

1994 with Browns and 1998 with Jets.

Well you can't really blame Vinny for his slow start. He did start off with the Bucs. No one could succeed for that team (back then).

I suppose, Steve Young did struggle there but Doug Williams didn't.

You've stumped me because I don't know who that is.

an old SNL skit with Will Ferrell. They would sit at the bar drunk and talk about the greatest guy in the world, ol Bill Bradsky. Sorry, I thought you would get that comming from Conan's ilk. After all, he might have written that skit :)

SNL was in Studio 8H downstairs, i'd watch 'em rehearse from the control room and see skits that got cut...let me tell you they rifle through a ton of crap and half the time as of late the show still isn' that great.

I wanted McFadden to win, but really Troy Smith deserved it, the QB of an undefeated team who's had a great year, it's hard to overcome that unless you have a Reggie Bush type of year.

What brings you to that opinion? There are some that believe that Brady Quinn is overrated as well. So how about you defend your position?

I'm not so certain that Troy should be a first rounder. However I believe he could develop well along the same lines that Romo has developed. Troy does have the ability to evade pressure with rather good scrambling ability. When he does leave the pocket he's looking downfield to find an open receiver to throw to. If nobody is open that is when he'll take off running.

I was extremely impressed with McFadden. He will definately be a favorite pre-season pick to when next year. I also believe that Steve Slaton from WV will get some consideration.. That guy is just super quick. I think he has an extra 2 gears that most players don't have.

Troy Smith isnt very good.

Everyone knows this.

Even John Madden's next game will PROVE this with his 77 rating.

But on a serious note... Troy Smith is overrated - Great college QB... but wont have what it takes to do it on the next level.

You must be "this tall" to ride this rider... the guy cant ride the roller coasters at Great Adeventure. Come on now.

You haven't a clue. I'd say your opinion is over rated...except it has no creedence whatsoever to begin with. Just a kid that posts 23 times a day...needs to hear himself talk.
